You know dj_steve, I'm a pessimist so I thought this project would never get to a fully completed state (everything working). But I'm glad to say you keep surprising me every time I walk into this thread. =P

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

On first boot, it gave me a kernel panic.
2nd boot- booted right up, wifi working too.

This version is sweeeeeeeet!

Questions:
1. After idling in NITDroid, screen will go blank, of course. How do I wake the screen again? I tried quite a lot (power button, hold power button, lock switch, camera key, all keys on keyboard), but nothing worked. Ended up taking battery out.
2. titan is planning to release power38 kernel that fixes fcam-drivers support among other thing. Do you plan to replace power37 with power38 in multiboot when it comes out? (I'm sure you will, just checking)

Thanks dj_steve, e-yes, Jay-C

dj_steve 2010-07-25 20:58

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

yea power38 will replace 37 once a kernel is made available, which reminds me i need to contact titan about something. and yep sleep seems a little unstable at in (power management is dodgy) but usualyl power button will wake it

Wow.. DJ Steve.. You are da MAN! The Video was so impressive..

How compatible are the games so far? Any major errors? Or are most things working "Out of the box" now?

Thanks,.

dj_steve 2010-07-25 21:07

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

hey steve where are all the apps in market? it seens a little... unpopulated!

dj_steve 2010-07-25 21:14

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

its due to google not recognising the n900 as a googledevice, thats something minor to look in at some point later for now

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

I can try to post link here, but it's probably gonna be removed in seconds. If anyone else needs it, pm me. [added] Btw, I installed it through a google web browser. I uploaded the file to local apache server and just downloaded it to device. I also enabled installation from unknown sources in settings. (settings >> Applications >> Unknown sources)

goes the battery very quick empty in this version?

aligatro 2010-07-25 22:11

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

Probably a little slower because GSM module is not active.

ali-bjk 2010-07-25 22:13

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

ok thanks

another question... runs nitdroid with 1 ghz? and how is the temperature of the n900?

aligatro 2010-07-25 22:17

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

terminal doesn't let me run the command I want. and sudo su doesn't seem to work. It's probably the same freq as in maemo. and I dunno about the temperature, but feels the same on touch.

Mount your mem card, then copy them from MyDocs (or the folder you have them in) to your mounted memory card's /system/app folder, i.e.

Code:

sudo mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and
cp /home/user/MyDocs/*.apk /and/system/app
sudo umount /dev/mmcblk1p2

note: I'm not sure you can do the ".apk" part. just remove it if you can't
i'd suggest putting all your apk's in a diff folder, i.e. create an apk folder:

Code:

sudo mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and
cp /home/user/MyDocs/apk/* /and/system/app
sudo umount /dev/mmcblk1p2

I think that: when we are able to:

Unlock completely 2gfx
Enabling the Overclock of terminal
Improving the functioning of CPU

Android will go like a rocket

So did anyone try to install Flash 10.1 yet ? :D The package I found doesn't want to install. :(

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

Sorry dj_steve but I'm a little confused.

How did you achieve 3d? I had always assumed that for 3d accel (xorg-driver) to work, you needed the kernel drm.

Nipperoid 2010-07-26 00:55

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

yes, just grab a file manager from market then click adobe.apk in Extras

Sorry to hear. Double-check that the apks are in the /system/app folder of the NITDroid (ext3) partition of your memory card.

If they are, I can't help you any further:(

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

Guys,
I have an 8gb SD card. I wish to make 3 partitions and have Nitroid and Easy Debian installed. Could someone please advise the code required to do this.
The 8gb card has approx 7.8gb free, so i am guessing the following would be ok?
2.5gb (Easy Debian)
1.9gb (For NITDroid)
3.5gb (NITDroid) approx, what ever is left over

I would put that 3.5 as a first partition and format it as fat32, so it can be used from maemo

Hey steve, quick thought, how about updating new rootfs directly from android, I know cynogen had done and I think still doing it on his builds we can probably have the same way to update it?

Aligatro,
Sounds great mate, could you tell me what the code would be. I have absolutely zero idea.
Much appreciated
