Can't update Application Catalogue
Error message is "Unable to update list. Last refreshed list is shown." I can't get to command line because my Extras are gone including Xterm. Please help.

sorry.. I don't know what that error means. :(
have you tried disabling all the application catalogs and enabling them one by one? If none of them work then there is a problem with your device or the connection. |

I had an error like that a while ago. I just disabled all the repos and re-enabled them one by one.

This should be a software problem so re flashing will certainly fix it. However, I would go into Application manager and go into each repository definition and disable each one Via the check box, and then work from there to determine which one is not working. The last or near last line in the log should show which repository address cannot be reached.

it should be 1/2 way down the page. If you can then follow the link I posted earlier. If you can not install Xterm what about re-flashing your N800? |

Man that is strange. :confused: Did you do a backup before the re-flash and then used that backup? If so what about re-flash without a backup?

Like I said if it was me I would re-flash and start fresh (no backup). I don't know what setting or conf you have change so a fresh start is what I would do. Yes you could say I am using a hammer to crack a nut by not using a backup.

I had the same issue as the op.
Then went to check the log (Tools->Log...) clear the log. do a refresh catalog again. Got the unable to update list message. then go to the log again. saw some W... and E... The lines that start with W are just Warnings. You need to take care the ones that start with E (Errors). What I did was to disable the catalog that created the error. refresh catalog again... You should not get the 'unable to update..' message anymore Enable the catalog that you just disabled. Try refreshing the catalog again... And hopefully you won't get the 'unable to update..' message anymore. |

I think his problem is the default Nokia repo which he cannot disable.

His problem was fixed by doing a re-flash without a back-up.
