Waiting for Angry Birds Level Pack 4...
 

I love Angry Birds, especially Level Packs 2 and 3.

I'm currently 2 stars away from 3 stars on all of Level Pack 2, and i'm working hard on getting 3 stars on Level Pack 3.

So the big question! Any release date for Level Pack 4? Any inclinations? Any ideas? Any information? Any anything?

They need to update the app first (to fit the extra level) before the pack comes out. We are one version behind the iphone..

I see. I thought Miika said that we will have the same version as the iPhone :(

Miika meant the graphics would be the same. You will notice that the background is now more detailed.
Just a pity we dont have the community diamond like on th iphone also. They have achievements too.

v1.40 on the iphone version introduced a new title screen, new scenario/world (only 15 levels available at this stage with two pages locked) and new birds - basically same as the Red bird (but huge and its weight crushes most things). Think the other was a big toucan as well. The current N900 version is only same as the previous 1.31 without the extra new stuff.

It'd be nice to have that. But at least we have custom levels :). Now if only they wouldn't interfere with the actual in-game levels.

never got around to trying the custom thing... i worry it would mess my scores up! lol

Don't worry, you will be getting the level pack 4 also. :)

The current iPhone version (1.4.0) only contains the first third of the new episode, so we have to wait until the whole episode is completed until a complete level pack can be released for N900.

It's a bit limiting that paid content in Ovi is provided as straight .deb files instead of coming from repository because it pretty much prevents updating paid content...

Yea you're right its really lame , the only way to see whether a new version of your apps is out is to go to ovi store and change view to "New" :confused::(

Can you please provide a rough estimate on the timeframe for the iPhone release and the N900 release of the pack?

Dont worry we wont hold you to the date, but it would be good to know if its weeks or months away.

Blimey you guys are really hardcore; I am currently at... Level 2, 99/126. Level 3 47/135.

It's soo addictive, thanks for all the hardwork you and your colleagues have put into this game Miika :D

Im not a big fan of the new levels. Not very diverse and all with the new bird. To be honest i think it was rushed to keep up with the demand but its still a nice new addition. id like to see more hidden extras though.
But there is no denying its the best game we have and the team at Rovio are doing an excellent job. One of the few development teams that have supported us and sooooooooo much appreciated. We are so lucky to have the number 1 game on our device under the circumstances.

agreed. in looking at the first video, it looks like the new birds dumbed down the play to brute force. i didn't bother to look at the other two, afraid that they'll spoil the fun that much more.

I think iphone users got the new set of levels today... hopefully it wont be long for us. - update, they got theme 10, so theme 11 is still to be released. guess itll be a little longer still.

All three sets have been released for the iphone which completes the episode.

No promises yet other than it will definitely come. :) We're currently working on syncing all the different platforms to the latest iPhone version, including the N900 version.

Great news Miika :) I saw that N8 version is out but still no level packs, so you guys are busy with that? :) also I'm so glad that you will not work with Chillingo :p EA is just a big monster who doesnt care about developers :cool:

Yeah, N8 is one of the platforms which needs to be updated. We actually got the first working fully updated Symbian^3 and N900 builds ready today. Now they just need to be polished, QA'd and get out to you guys. :)

As for Chillingo getting bought by EA, well, it doesn't really change anything for us. From the beginning Chillingo was our iOS publisher, and only for the one title. All other platforms and products are published by us.

A bit late, but paid for applications can't be added to repositories because we'd be able to install them without paying. If you try to install an Ovi Store app with apt-get, it "fails silently". If you apt-get install aptitude, then aptitude install appgoeshere, it'll install. That means we could hypothetically:

Now, that's not actually what the package is called, I'm sure, but that's the gist of it.

I can't believe how cool Rovio is as a developer for Maemo 5. Not only are you producing quality software, but you also keep us up to date with straightforward answers. Eternally grateful and looking forward to the next level pack.

The halloween is a seasonal exclusive only for iOS devices, sorry. I feel your jealousy, I'm using N900 as my personal device as well so I can't have it either. :(

If I remember correctly the plush toys should become available by the holiday season. There have been quite a lot of toy-throwing in our office lately, funny how these things can appeal to grown men/women this much. :D

Can your company somehow tell Nokia to stop being so damn slow with Ovi Store and their stupid QA? :(

We would love to see frequent updates like the iOS..

Anyways, great job on everything you guys are doing! I can't wait for lvl pack 4 although I have played it on my brother's iPad.. lol.. And can't wait to pay the halloween version on there too!!!

Things could be MUCH worse... like example no games at all from Rovio. I mean Maemo 5 isn't exactly the platform to develope and full of users...
And hey we got Rovio game that nobody else got in any other platform, Bounce Evolution.

Nokia can thank their luck that the hottest mobile game developer is making games for them too and i so hope this will continue in future with Symbian and MeeGo.
