Re: Sygic 10 Bugs

I tried sygic maps 10 for 130 km drive.

-sygic maps crached 4 times

-infromation about speed, distance and so forth stopped updating when I used music and fm transiver. (worked perfect with maps 9)

+the only thing that worked were the speed cam warnings.

Worst update ever. Will change back to sygic 9 when i get back home.

sygicsupport. I expect an update in the next few weeks. :(

I also want to revert to SMM 9, this "update" is a minor disaster. Does anyone know:

* Where I can get the updated v9 .deb (the version with autorotate support & continued voice guidance with screen locked)? I received this OTA previously so didn't keep the download.

* Is it possible to use the updated v10 Maps with the SMM 9 application? Presumably Maps/ would be v10, while Res/ and Drive/ would be v9?

Edit: settings are all default, haven't touched those yet.

Yup...I managed to reproduce this too... it crashed too. :(

Mine is all default setting...no fancy setting including my N900. all default.

I hope Sygic will put a patch for it.

Disabling the interactive (or something like that) menus seemed to stop the program segfaulting on my device. It also made the whole program run smoother.

I'll take this back. Sygic crashed twice during one hour trip.

I noticed that second time it crashed I didn't have a cell network available (blank area). Don't know if it has anything to do with it, just caught my eye.

No crash here. With "Rotate Display" button display rotates to portrait and back to landscape. Display also changes with accelerometer without crashing.

For me the main problem with this version compared with v9 is the heating and battery drain (running original kernel no overclock). It seams the processor is running always at full speed even if there is no routing going on.

The menu panning is also choppy. It should be smoother.

I'm not sure by it also seams to me that routing takes a bit longer than in v9.

Overall my v10 installation it's working although i think v10 still needs some improvements. ;)

Good to hear that rotate works for you... I'll look elsewhere for my problem then, :)

Routing does take a lot longer for me as well and yes, the warmth and battery drain I reported earlier remains.

From what I am seeing, I'm wondering if internet connection and contact db tracking have a lot to do with all this. It may not play well with Hildon notifications like new mail, alarms, and such as well.

They tamed the opening multiple instances at least. :)

I have been corresponding with Sygic on multiple occasions in the past few weeks. It does take them a few days to reply, but they always have. If you reply back to them right away they will reply right away too. Also when i say "they", i really mean him. It seems there is only one customer service person, but he has been very helpful with my requests. I'm sure Sygic is pretty backed up with email right now.

also, I am too waiting on a reply from 08/05 so your not the only one!

Re: Sygic 10 Bugs

My experience with SMM 10 is pretty positive. Today I turned it on on my way to work. It was 1 hour of driving. My device is not overclocked, running PR 1.2 firmware and default SMM settings. The device is not overheating (in fact it was not even warm), the application runs smoothly and did not crash on me one time. Phone was connected to the bluetooth car kit, I had an incoming call while the navigation was on, everything worked fine. I also made it to reroute a couple of times as I took the other way that it was instructing me - it was fast and reliable.
So I'm glad I made the update to SMM 10 after all :)

Re: Sygic 10 Bugs

Maybe not strictly a bug, but it looks like SMM 10 didn't resolve the issue I had with SMM 9. I've got an integrated bluetooth carkit which advertises itself as an headset. However, it will only playback audio from the device when there is an active call. This means that I won't hear the voice instructions when the phone is connected to the carkit. I can disable bluetooth and not connect to the carkit and get instructions on the N900's speakers, but then I won't be able to call hands-free. And I can't seem to find a way around that.
