Wrist pain in my secondary hand

I often hold my N900 with my left hand and tap on the screen with my right one, i've started to feel wrist pain in my left hand, i guess it's the way i'm holding the N900, i'm not sure exactly how else i can hold it though; any way i can improve this situation?

agreed. n900 can be very awkward to hold especially when using the keyboard.

yet another reason why we need portrait mode on our device, would be sooooo much easier.

i sort of make an ok (divers use) sign with both my hands and loosen both thumbs when typing. very hard to explain how i do it but my n900 sits confortable and iv had no problems

Hm, portrait mode, i'll try holding it sideways for a while (tilting my head when necessary) and see if it helps with my wrist pains; thanx for the idea :)

Funny question :p

But why not hold it with both your hands and use the left thumb for the left half of the screen and the right thumb for the right half.
If you need the keyboard just slide the screen up and your hands are already perfectly placed for typing and its easier on the wrists, I suppose.

The only time I need to use the phone with just one hand is while carrying some stuff and wanting to text with the other.

For that I use the App FastSMS

Reading the message is done by tilting my head, sadly.

BTW you sure the wrist pain isn't of any other activities :D

Re: Wrist pain in my secondary hand

Holding it like i would in portrait mode but angling my wrists to have it in landscape (the way people normally hold phones when talking on them, but sideways and in front of you instead of on your ear)) is the position that comes naturally for me, trying the diver's OK or the two thumbs typing positions feel like i'm not providing enough support for the device, and if i'm not careful the base of my thumb covers the status LED which is kinda annoying to me.

edit: Oh, and it isn't from "other activities", like i said, it's my secondary hand.

ive always held my phones with both hands. even all my portrait s60s since 3650. n900 fits snugly into my hands, just feels natural

Sometimes it's not about how you hold it, it's about how long, and how tired you are when you use it.

Anyway, if the problem persists and/or gets more annoying you might wanna see a doctor, just in case...

are you sure this pain can be attributed to the way you are holding the n900?
