n900, pc and internet: can you teach me?
I ask you because I never did it so I even don't know where to start from.
I am in a place with a pc (windows) which cannot connect to internet. But I have n900 which can do it by means of a pavket data plan which I have for the n900. Is it possible to connect pc and n900 in order to navigate in internet FROM the pc using the n900? If it's possible I ask you to teach me how to do, or if there is a tutorial to give me the link. Even if I shoul install something from repository please say to me what. Thank you in advance! |
Re: n900, pc and internet: can you teach me?
Yes, this can be done by connecting the N900 to a PC using the USB cable. On Ubuntu Linux it works out of the box. I don't know what's required to make it work on Windows, however. Ovi suite perhaps?

Re: n900, pc and internet: can you teach me?
Ovi does not do a very good job at that but you might want to install it so the n900 is being recognized as a mobile access point. Once that is done you should be able to right click your network icon in the system tray, choose show network connection and select your N900 from there by rightclicking it and selecting connect.
My n900 tends to reboot when I have Ovi Suite open. |
