ill make a new svg with some changes, maybe a stand alone widget without the mediaplayer. the player fits perfectly for me. perhaps you have a snap to grid function on?

No, no span to grid function enabled, gut in my case it seems that the mediaplayer is 1 or 2 pixels wider than the transmitter widget.
Also i like a stand alone widget without media player. Something like earlier posted in this tread.

When you say tx status not working ? you ^press the antenna at bottom left and it dos not show the station Name and switch to tx status on ?

Here's the fixed SVG for my layout (read: usable), needs bit of tweaking still as the placement of the labels suck. I'll try to check the minor annoyances later on.

Copy the rds.svg to /MyDocs and have fun.

When I press + or - , i mask with my finger the frequency.

They do - but right now activating the buttons is total hit or miss. They really need to pad the buttons so that its easier to press them. Apart from that and the fact that the gap in the center is a few pixels small for the media player widget - this is a great app.

This would be a totally 'must have app' if the buttons could work smoothly and be changeable quickly whilst in the car.

Yes agree i use Qt function to setGeometry of button from SVG... but size is not good so i adjust them with offset, look like i need more.

Fixed the text field and the width is now same as in the Media Player widget.

I don't know how many of you have a Radio, in the car or other wise, that supports BlueTooth, but I sync'ed the N900 via bluetooth instread of the transmitter, Wow, what a difference. Great sound, no static or distortion, no cutting out. Works great! So I would highly recommend, when/if you change out your car radio, to go with one with bluetooth and connect this way. You won't be sorry.

I have it - my N900 sees an audio bluetooth device but for some reason - no audio ... it annoys me.

Bratag,

I know there is a certain PROFILE that is needs. A2DP I believe? If your car radio has that it should work. What I did find is when you sync it, turn on the Bluetooth on the N900 FIRST, then the radio. This works everytime, once sync'ed. But if you are not able to even Sync them up, then that might be related to the bluetooth profile. You know your phone has it, you might want to look at the radio owners manual, or perhaps call them up, maybe some kind of update you can do on the radio depending how old it is. I'm just glad the N900 worked. My Incredible worked like a charm, but to be honest I think the N900 sounds better. (sorry to get off track on here folks, I know this is about the FM transmitter). So I'll back off with the Bluetooth posts now. Sorry!

To fix the button hitting problem(i think) you need to make some transparant space around the icon(aka the hittable space). Havn't tested it yet, but my layout is only responding to the sizes thay have in the svg format.

Btw one more thing: is it possible to switch the icons when they are pressed on? like my layout the changing antenna?(it doest work atm)

I can't get the frequency to increase or decrease hitting anywhere on those buttons or around them. (I haven't got any custom buttons installed just the default after installing through app manager). Should they increase / decrease when the fm transmitter is off as well

Yes i do the code, it works but you don't see it ;)

your icon have transparent background so we see both as they are on top of each other... if you tweak a back background for the fm transmiter off icon instead of transparent, it should work. else i don't know how to design this.

That the same problem for push button when i ask for size i got floating value that i need to transform to int to use with qpushbutton ... and i lost a part of the size.

Maybe a real size button around the icon give a good result. have to try with stonda theme

Stonda, your layout is perfect.

Just a thing for the SMS Icon, XML is case sensitive, SMS_Off_Icon not SMS_Off_icon :)

PS: When you send a SMS it crash the widget... i have done a mistake and not enought test. i fix it in next upload. It was working because i sent SMS to me for test :)

Great apps. I just have a minor problem. Every time i reboot the phone, the widget disappear. Also Stonda, can you please make the new upside down svg file with the black background like the original? It goes better with the darkplastic theme. Thanks for all the hard work.

I have updated the FMrdsnotifier to the last version, looks very good. Nice job done here! As idea, is it possible to adjust the color of the on/off button symbol??? Like in the simply fm tramsmitter widget? So when transmitter is off a red symbol and when it is on a green symbol??
Now is it all gray/white, more color is welcome.. Thanks for the great job done so far!

It should work with latest 0.7.2, i just do the test, shuting down the phone then power it on. widget automatically come back

Excellent app. Could we also have a bigger version with larger buttons for bigger finger and the slighly fading eyesight over to over 40s? I don't mind if the widget size increases.

Tried installing this but get an "unable to install". It appears on the desktop anyway but the only buttons that work are the "+" and "-"

Haven't been through the thread entirely but any ideas why this might be and how I can fix?

How difficult would it be to have the widget almost as big as a N900 desktop? Is it just a case of using different graphics?

I'd like to have a bigger version so I can quickly control it whilst driving in the car. Can we have a supersized version of this widget please?

@the first post of the thread there is an discription of all the id's. if you don't know what what is, ill make an nice example.

there is an option in illustrator to export to svg so you can use that.
youll need to change the id tags with something like notepad(because the illustrator exporter sucks)

Yeah, the svg file determinates the size of the widget. You could just resize some of the svgs which were previously posted into this thread, although the highlighted button presses look a bit on the funky side there.

When you're done with the resizing, just copy the resized svg into /MyDocs and reload the widget.

I reckon widget width between 760-790 pixels should do the trick, since you should leave some room to each side of the desktop.

i was thinking of collecting some of the skins and adding screenshts to first post with files attached to make this thread a little friendlier, with your permission of course?

and while i'm here anyone fancy doing a super simple skin? 3 buttons, vertical, full height about thumb width, on/off button, + button, and skip track button (if that command has been integrated yet) with status of rds indicated through white or green on said buttons. my artistic skills are as poor as my coding ones!
