Ok added the svg to MyDocs. Rebooted and removed widget from desktop and re-added. It still looks exactly the same to me.

Ok. Looking good. One little thing is the green 92.2 that is shown at the top of it which hides the frequency. It would be good if that was the size of the frequency as it is really clear.

AM loving the size of this now though. Perfect for the car. :)

Seems like it won't use the custom svg file . . . does it scan only on documents folder? Because in dutch it's called "Documenten" and I've put the file to it, but it doesn't seem to work.

I've been trying to edit the SVG to my liking, but failing a little.

I've attatched a quick mock up of how i'd like to have it.

It is a 440px x 190px widget i want.

The red lines are where i would like the button press areas to be, because i find just having the + and - part of the widget as buttons makes it abit small (i'm not using the full screen version).

As you can see, all i want it to show, is the power on/off button in the middle, the frequency at the top, and +/- symbols.

I don't know if it would be a problem, but as you can see, my button press area outlines overlap on the frequency text, but this is how i'd like it, as to give me a bigger area to press and less room for error.

What is a good SVG editor for me to use to make this myself?

Put it in /home/user/MyDocs . . . make sure the name is rds.svg

Under windows put it in the root that opens up when connect the phone to the computer.

It looks very nice, although to big for me. Good job.
If you want to make the buttons as you mentioned in the previous post, you need to make(i assume you work with illustrator or photoshop) a layer of the button icon AND the hitting area.
So copy the background with it and merge the icon + the background. This is the way to create a bigger hittable button.

Buttons are with a invisible background yet. Now I like to have the font-size a little larger . . .

And yes Ajax, because they're playing Champions League again since a while, 5 years. ;)

So those invisible backgrounds dont work? try splitting op those layers in 3 parts with the icons merged to the background. That 'll do the trick(worked for me)
Frequency font is , i think, setted in the code. Ask BabelO, i think he knows the awnser

Are you able to let us know how to alter the frequency font. I can barely see it whilst driving along and I'd love to be able to have it displayed quite large.

Tested the widget on a journey today and was fab. With the large font it will be much easier to change frequencies quickly.

i am using tnis widget, but have been noticing a few issues with it, and was wondering if it is just me? I have had a read though the various discusiions and have not spotted anything.

it sometimes seems to be a bit laggy starfting. is there a trick or a sequence with sgtarting media player and the transmitter?

Also, though I can change the settings, they reset after a restart. is there anyway to save them?

Hi,

On start it is the fm transmitter activation which took time. i can change this by switching directly ON the widget when you press the button, and if the transmitter is not activated after a while i switch it back to off.

Look strange, settings save well here, look in your /home/user/.config/Trolltech if there is a directory "FM RDS ..."
