Re: [Live Wallpaper] Video Wallpapers

live wall papers was crippling my phone! That was with just one background, the stock Matrix one.

I had to remove it.

Anyone else had any issues?

I'm running 7 desktops

I found some more PS3 XMB videos on the below forum, they are high quality 720p, but the only problem is they are 200mb! unfortunately i dont have any software to edit these videos but thought they might be of some use to anyone who wants them but in different colours.

Also when i tried the blue XMB theme, it played a bit 'choppy' on my phone, is this the same for anyone else? my phone is completely stock and not overclocked...

Hm, I got an idea, not sure if its doable though.

Would it be possible to make a Plasma Lamp wallpaper, and when you touch the screen, it will follow your finger. Like a real life plasma lamp.

Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMxGU...eature=related

That would be really neat!

Can anybody tell me how to use these nice video's as a fullscreen background? I've downloaded some and they are all in a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Thanx, but I really couldn't get this to work, because of my n00b-ness with Xterminal. Don't understand what this code will do.

@ leetut: are the links updated?
And do you have a new link for the PS3-style background avi. When I click it, it says: resource not found.

Thnx :)

can some one implement that?cuz i feel having a smooth background video is WAAY cooler than having 4 interlinked pictures.

you can di this via live wallpaper, you just have to go into the settings and figure it out.
it is not hard to do, you just need to set one wallpaper. the only thing i noticed was it overlays the actual wallpaper, i dont know if this will affect your performance.

I have been waiting for an update version of LiveWallpaper since I have problems with the current version on my videos. Is an update coming soon or is it possible to get hold of an earlier version like the one prior to v.0.92? Thanks.

Re: [Live Wallpaper] Video Wallpapers

i just tried some of the wallpapers.

florish seems to run fine fps-wise, though you can see the compression.
i also tried goldparticles and snow - both ran with literally 1 frame per second.

all 3 of them took nonstop 95-100% CPU.

Sorry guys, can anyone tell me where I can get hold of an earlier version of LiveWallpaper 'ver. 0.92' or prior, thanks.

What size are the avi files you are trying to play - and by size I mean resolution. If they are larger than the screen then yeah it might be laggy.

Previous thread answers simply suggest using mp4 for all the files you need.

actually a few avi files are working, namely : idream, dyingplanet, florish, dripping....
but the rest avi's namely : sky, rain, snow, star flare, rockies, ae particles.... r not working proerply... I have downloaded all these from this thread only... from the mediafire links provided... but I am not sure how to match up their resolution to work...

I have made this simple video for Live Wallpaper. It shows a hypothetical magnetic monopole particle in a grand unified theory, and is produced by an actual quantum field theory simulation. The framerate is quite low so that it does not use too much CPU time.

It is probably some codec issue but I had to add some extra frames at the end to make to loop smoothly on Live Wallpaper.

Re: [Live Wallpaper] Video Wallpapers

I cant make the videos look at full screen, i use the 4:3 and 16:9 aspect but just the 16:9 has black edges in the screen, not full screen, and the 4:3 worst, i haver pr 1.3, maybe a multimedia codec is the problem.

Re: [Live Wallpaper] Video Wallpapers

after a long time for not using this app because of power draining issues, i decide to reuse it back again with one paper for all desktops, video playing in loop (which should only be active when in desktop). The i found which i did not have back then is that the movie is being played only once or twice and then stops. anyone has this behavior/knows how to overcome this?

Also, when trying to browse for videos from the livewallpaper settings, the file browser opens and crashes immediately - i am only able to change video file using these:

gconftool-2 -s /apps/maemo/livewp/additional_string_11 -t string "/media/mmc1/Media/Motion Picture/Background/egretsunset.avi"

The flash playing isn't working also - the screen is staying black.

uninstalling live-wallpaper and reinstalling doesn't fix these issues.

i am using - 2011.38-1Tmaemo8.2+thumb1 and 2.6.28.10-power52
