I have ruined MyDocs partition

I was making a bootable USB stick with a openSUSE .iso, and I forgot that the phone was plugged in too.

I have written the .iso on the wrong device, that is, on the phone. So all MyDocs is gone. I have repartitioned it to one big partition, type Win95 LBA (type c in fdisk from Linux), created a FAT32 filesystem with the label "Nokia N900" and I have created some .directories like .documents, .sounds, .images

However, it seems that there's something wrong because I get "No files/directories" in File Manager.

My question is: if I reflash N900 from Ovi Suite in Windows, will this recreate the MyDocs filesystem or not?

Format it with the N900's file manager.

How? It has only one available option "Memory usage" that says "memory card corrupted" (there's no memory card in it, I suppose it refers to the internal memory)

Try with the control panel option "memory"
I'm very sure that you can reformat this partition with the device.

No, it was the same "memory card corrupted".
However, I have fixed it by creating the filesystem with mkfs.vfat from N900. Before, when it wasn't working, I have created it from the PC.

After I have made the filesystem, rebooted and opened it in File Manager, it created all the .directories. It's all good again, almost.

This is what I got there:
.documents .images .sounds .videos DCIM

I think there were some more files on it, like an .ico that was shown in Windows when plugging in the N900.

Can someone please send those to me in a private message?

Open up the File Manager, stick your finger on the N900 internal storage folder and hold it there for a few seconds, it'll pop up a couple of options, one of which is "Format" - I'd be inclined to use that one if I were in a similar situation : )

I hope you didn't lose anything important. : (

uhhh aren't directories starting with a period hidden in the crappy file manager?

I have done that now, it's almost the same as what I've done before. It doesn't set the volume label to "Nokia N900".

In the end I have reflashed everything, rootfs and eMMC.. I like it very, very neat :) Now it's like it was when it came out of the factory.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Re: I have ruined MyDocs partition

I have a similar problem, but i already reflashed the kernel with FIASCO image and the emmc with VANILLA.. nothing happened, the problem is still the same with my internal memory, I get memory card corrupted in the memory menu, get no partition on the file manager.
I've tried to mount the mmcblk0p1 through the terminal and seems to work, with the "df" command the partition is mounted but on the memory menu, the card is still corrupted and in the file manager i can acess it, then i format but nothing happens... rebooting the device makes the problem comes back, its not self mounting or recognizing the mmcblk0p1 partition...
please someone could help me? cant even send it back to nokia, bought it in US and I live in Brazil -.-'
