and what the free space on mmc? maybe you should use apt-get clean && apt-get install foo (where foo is the name of package). as well can you change title for something more proper and informative, let's keep our forum clean (thanks) ;)

What should we say?
You have probably testing and perhaps devel enabled. If so then you should not even ask these questions :D

btw.
You can check what application is eating your space with storage usage app (btw. if you are using fapman as your default app manager then disable all but default repositories from defaul app manager. IIRC this should free up some space.

@slender : check wat app is eating space by (top) in xterm u mean ?,
and just today i couldn't receive any new sms cuz theres no space..whats worng with the rootfs ??? and.......whats IIRC :D

And about IIRC. Have you tried google? It´s quite nice. It helps you to find answers to your questions :)

And weird thing about space requirements. Do not trust on what app manager tells on what application takes space. Thing is that applications might have dependencies that take more space. Also your rootfs space is quite low. Applications should not be installed there. I do not exactly know what is happening with frozen bubble but then again it´s devel/&testing stuff IIRC and you should probably contact developer of that app.

the weird thing that nokia provide only 277 MB in a 32 GB phone for games and applications

How about if you install application that I already recommended in this thread and from that application you tap top and select scan packages and look for applications that are marked red and then report back here.

Also have you installed PR 1.2 to your phone.

same thing happened to me NUMEROUS TIMES. im not sure if frozen bubble is optified.

what i opted to do were remove other repos, removed some useless apps, reboot my device and going directly to App Manager, and search for google to "How to free up rootfs space", there are a few ways to transfer some etc/bin files from rootfs to your eMMC storage found here in maemo.org. (wiki)

I think the problem might be the home partition in this case. You only have 122Mb free and Frozen bubble includes a lot of libraries. Total dl was something around 28Mb on my phone, add to that the unpacked version, since it's unpacked in the same partition it's downloaded to, and you have more than the 122Mb you have available. Once installed it used a little more than 12.7Mb rootfs space and 52.6Mb from /home for me, but that all depends on how many of the libraries you have previously installed.

In xterm do:
root
apt-get install frozen-bubble

and you'll see some output on and maybe find out where the problem lies.

I don't think this is caused by not enough free space. The error message is misleading. I also have this issue (I think it happen right after installing frogatto game). I was able to install new packages with <1MB free root space. Now I have >40MB free root, >100MB free mmc, >200MB free /opt and >10GB free mydocs but application manager refuses to install even smallest packages.

I also suggest OP to change this thread title to something more meaninful to keep this clean and get proper attention. "Not enough space error in HAM but rootfs has plenty space" would be much better title for this thread.

@slender : im trying to get storage usage its really small 61 KB but the phone says "no memory" ?? theres about 45 MB !
and im using PR 1.2

@altron : i removed vulture's eye which is 32 MB and then i checked df -h and the used memory is still the same before uninstalling,
i read about changing the cache elsewhere outside rootfs but when u download something from application manager does it go directly there or u should do it manually ?

@mece : apt-get install frozen-bubble (couldn't find package, i also tried forzen-bubble2) i guess it refuses to download anything since its not downloading Storage Usage which is 61 KB

After a little research this issue I have found that this is known issue and there is a bug filed about it. Apt-worker (which is used by Hildon Application Manager) is setting an arbitrary limit of free space: you need over 200 MB free in your /home to be able to install/update apps. Issue solved.
