so this is running Meego but obviously a custom UI which is a take away from the excellent Tablet UI with Panels that was demoed on the Intel prototype. I would have loved that Panel layout of the standard (or was it Intel's custom UI ?) of Meego better on the WeTab considering it has so much of screen space.

Totally off-topic; however it seems to be yet another MeeGo based product coming out soon. Seems like Nokia's due for an announcement indeed - Amino Media Center.

Hmm.

The WeTab's UI is very cool, too.
Totally optimized for use with your thumbs on both sides of the screen.

Oh, no doubt - in fact the thumbing on both sides is actually a usability increase I realized after watching the video one more ... but for pure looks I would have liked the Panel layout to be present also.

But again its more practical to have a easy usable UI than just a good looking one.

The sceptical side of me is now a little incredulous that the WeTab guys say it will run Java apps, Air, Flash and nearly everything you throw at it. Will wait to see it and believe it.

Exactly.
HW actually looks to be pretty damn nice. It's the UI and support that i'm not 100% sure here.
I really don't usually go for these type of smaller company made gadgets and at first i passed this right away, but it is actually looking pretty good. Still a bit hard to jump to a bandwagon as i'm sure we will see some MeeGo tablet loving from bigger boys this year.
