Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
how to enter in service mode with red box? i've selected jig mode and pl3 connected to ps3 slim and did the power eject button. its is jailbroken. then i turn off ps3 via menu and disconnect n900 and power ps3 on but no service mode. whats wrong?

Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
Last psfreedom version (0.6) from extra devel already have JIG (downgrade) option. You can use it with PS3UPDAT.PUP and Lv2diag.self files from psx-scene. But fresh message from scene say's "I have 100% confirmed downgrading your PS3 console, kills Blu-Ray Playback!".
May be waiting few days would be wise decision. p.s. sorry for bad english |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
but the thing does not get into service mode, how to downgrade? have you ever tried it? if yes, give the steps. thanks

Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
BEWARE PEOPLE, IT HAS BEEN REPORTED THAT WHEN YOU DOWNGRADE YOUR PS3, YOU LOSE THE ABILITY TO PLAY BLU-RAY MOVIES!!

It terribly for me, turn console to factory mode without possibility exit from it :D. And I will wait few days, while developers fix bug with blueray movies. |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3

Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
Lets clear some things to avoid further FUD:
1. Psfreedom 0.5 works with stock kernel and power-kernel 40 2. Psfreedom 0.6 works with stock kernel and power-kernel 46 a. new options JIG (downgrading) which according to multiple sources will break blu-ray playback. b: optimizations in the psfreedom application according to post: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=715 Some advices: Don`t downgrade for now from 3.50 to 3.41 ! There are rumors for hacked 3.50, patiance is a virtue. Both of the payloads available in the Psfreedom are working. If you have issues post every step in details as this will allow us to help you. Easy way to check if the pl3 payload is loaded start the application, jailbraik, led indicator becames red and type in the terminal (with root): lsmod |grep psfree if there is no output you are using the wrong psfreedom version for your kernel. |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3

I'm still on PR 1.2, how can i make psfreedom 0.6 work? thanks for your work! |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
so, i made some tests:
I have PS3 Slim 120GB PAL (CECH2104A), n900 with stock kernel, FW PR1.3, psfreedom 0.6 hermes & pl3 payloads works fine as in previos build JIG mode don't work (i'm tryed with both usb ports and plugging off the powercable before JIG) |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
I'll ping KaKaRoTo about it today.
I have NOT tested jig mode actually, I don't want my PS3 in service mode. PSFreedom no longer works with PR1.2, or kernel-power < 46, sorry, but it's the way the builder works. |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
Is there a ps freedom for the n900 supporting spoofing 3.50 for playing assassin's creed BH?
kind regards edit: ...or is it possible to use the psfreedom for the palm pre? Both are .ko files? |

Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
Can someone please calrify this package for me...
Is it to allow the downgrade to be completed back from PS3 v3.50 to v3.41? Does it have any 3.50 spoofing? for say GT5? The thread seems to bounce around a lot of terms which I cant tell are questions or answers. |

There is already a method of spoofing that will allow you to play a few games like assassin's creed. GT5 is uncrackable so the only way to play is to update to v3.50 and buy the game. So when you what to use lets say homebrew then you can use the jig mode and go back to a firmware that supports jailbreaking. As said before there is a possibly of jailbreaking v3.50 but it has not been proven. Thanks again to MohammadAG In regards to the bluray playback you should be able to restore that function by downloading these files and copying them to the required folders, http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y3AC4KME in \drm put in the dvix folder in vsh\bdplayer\ put in the two files in \widget put in all the files |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
FWIW, can somebody try this in terminal? I wonder if it's a Qt issue...
Code:
sudo psfreedom-enable-n900.sh --pl3 --jig |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
Should I start PSFreedom after writing that in xterm? My terminal said: "Detected kernel-power, creating symlinks..."
|
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
i'm try in terminal
sudo psfreedom-enable-n900.sh --pl3 --jig it puts console to pl3 jailbreak mode |

No, just plug it into the PS3.

So i just go to my terminal and do the command that you said without getting root acess? So it says to me "Detected stock kernel, creating symlinks..." What am i going to do now? What i should to do? |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
I've tried plugging it into my PS3, but nothing happens. But i get the same notification as if I plugged it into my computer (PC suite mode or mass storage)
I might be doing it wrong, however. I can't seem to figure out how the boot thingie works. When I press the eject button on boot, my drive starts to spin up, as if it's trying to detect a medium. |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
Just type the command and do what you always did, plug it into the PS3, turn off/on then power + eject.
And sudo = root access. |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
1) run x-terminal
2) root (if easyroot installed) 3) type psfreedom-enable-n900.sh --pl3 --jig you gain "Detected stock kernel, creating symlinks..." 4) switch off power cable 5) connect n900 to right slot of your ps3 (near to BD-rom) 6) reconnect power cable 6) punch ultra combo kick "power+eject!" 7) ignore any splash screens, just wait. 8) enjoy... As i'm write before this steps turn console on pl3 jailbreak mode. Factory mode don't work anyway. |
Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3
I dont really want to sound like a trad, but do we really need to use pl3 since pl3 is for jailbreaking and we are just trying to get in to service mode?
