ON my maemo

nitdroid-installer 0.2.6-3
nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-06 final1

May I ask what do you need these info for? If you just want to install it, you just have to enable extras-devel, apt-get install nitroid-installer, and nitdroid and that is all to it, thread #3.

Same here: Installed NITdroid with the help of other in root fashion but never saw or do see the autoinstaller in extra-devel.

Any idea why?

Update for sensors HAL - Fixes accelerometer so it uses less CPU and can be used by apps.

Fake GPS HAL - Enables apps that require GPS to work. It makes them think GPS is working when really it aint.

Known issue! There are issues with the axis. If it was changed to make apps work, the desktop rotation would mess up.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 N900 Help Thread.

Afraid not. I aint a developer, only support so dont have a clue what changes are needed. I think e-yes is working on fixing this though.

Edit: If you want it though, there is no harm putting an enhancement request through the bug tracker.

How do we make the Android Market find all the apps using N900?
It seems it only sees a very small portion of apps.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 N900 Help Thread.

+1.

Is there any app, that nitdroid can fool the market? Nitdroid is supposed to be NexusOne, is Nitdroid being presented as NexusOne to the market? I think this is the crux.

follow http://forum.nitdroid.com/index.php?topic=84.0, it installed an extra item on bootmenu, and you boot into that will give you option of OC. It worked for me.

hi,please help. i tried downloading nitdroid from the application manager but it didnt show up in extras devel..and i couldnt get it by apt get...someone suggested adding a repo of nitdroid..that didnt work too...so i tried downloading nitdroid-installer_0.2.7_armel.deb from nitdroid downloads...it gave an error about 2 missing dependencies...multiboot-kernel-maemo_0.3_armel.deb and multiboot_0.2.10_armel.deb. i tried downloading and installing them directly. i installed multiboot_0.2.10_armel.deb, got a msg to update..and did so. now when i start my phone...i get a white screen with the msg 'press a key to select' it has nokia n900 multiboot written on top and the number 30 on the right.i have tried pressing all the keys but nothing happens, expect that the numbers count down to 1 and start on 30 again.the phone switches off after some time automatically...any help...whats happening?

Nitroid questions: Please do not get mad:

1. Flash 10.1 work well?
2. Does the OS see both the emmc and external microsd?
3. Does the market work?
4. Can I just use wifi? I use VZW now, so no GSM.
5. Is it easy for rubes like me to install?
6. Do I need a blank microsd or with the 6 gb free I have on my 32gb microsd be okay?

Thanks!

1.it works but of course bugs still lingers
2.Afaik it sees the emmc as the sd card
3.market is partially supported
4.definitely
5.quite easy and straight forward just get the nitdroid installer from the repos although i would suggest partitioning your sd card first manually using gparted or likes before running installer as there are some issues on sd card partitioning part
6.when you run the installer your sd card will be wiped of, so back up your files

hope this helps you a bit dude :) for further readings go to nitdroid forums all the things you want to know will be answered there

What is supposed to happen when you tap the menu button instead of holding it? Mine just does a weird animation and goes back to desktop.

Nope. The mic fix has nothing to do with calls. It just enables voice applications to use the mic (very low latency). It does not work with SIP apps either.. so far that is.

Calls will require using some sort of high latency API and with android that is only possible (or so i know) with AudioTrack.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 N900 Help Thread.

Uhm, some help please.
I managed to install NITDroid after a huge fight with the X-Terminal.
But there's just a few problems. First of all, the proximity sensor isn't working as the menu button. I don't think it's doing anything at all. Second, I 'm having trouble finding out how to access my files... How on earth do I access the files stored internally in my N900? I can look through the gallery to find like 20% of all the images my N900 internal storage had... and the music player can find all my music from my N900's internal storage. But where's the video's? Android is so hard to find where everything is...

And then another problem, I wanted to install this app called "1, 2, 3000 Kanji" but apparently it's for the USA market only. So I looked a bit and found this file called MarketEnabler which should enable the USA market for me... so it's stored on the SDcard AND on my N900's internal storage... but again, WHERE DO I FIND IT?

EDIT:
And lastly... isn't there an integrated taskmanager that is EASY to access? Right now the only way I can get away from an application window is by pressing back (soft button camera) or by going to menu (hard button camera) But the problem is that doing this doesn't close the app, it just sends it to the background. This annoys me cause it causes unnecessary stress and warms the device up alot.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 N900 Help Thread.

The proximity sensor is no longer a 'button.' I forget what they replaced it with.

If you want to kill tasks, get the Advanced Task Killer.

I used to have a good link to an excellent task manager thingy, but it stopped working so I can't help you there.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 N900 Help Thread.

Hi,
I have nitdroid 0.0.8 installed and it works very well exept of one big problem ( to me at least ) - I can't play games.
All the games I tried are installed but when I launch the game ( asphalt 5 for example ) it asks me to download the game data although they are in the suitable directory ( i can only download the sd data to pc and transfer them to the n900 cause i have problems with the n900 internet connections). is there another step i should take exept of transfering the sd data and installing the .apk?
Please help me, I will really appreciate it!

Ditto. I haven't been prompted for a nitdroid update in months, yet the changlelog on your wiki suggests that I have missed two.

I remember when it was first installed, it downloaded the 'the_flying_world' which I think is v0.0.6, but I'm just guessing.

My extras-devel repo is working fine, and the command 'nitdroid-installer --version' yeilds nothing.

When I try 'apt-get install nitdroid-installer' (after updating) I just get "nitdroid-installer is already the newest version".
Which is of course, very helpful :)

Suggestions? (or am I in the wrong thread for reporting this?:o)
