Re: Sygic 10 update available!

glad I'm not the only one ... :( Unfortunately I have removed the update but now I'm out of ANY MM10. Not even the older (electric heater) version.

Of course I had deleted my original free upgrade to MM10 mail so I can't reinstall. I still have my MM9 registration email though.

I've asked Sygic support to resend me the link for MM10 but no answer yet. Can anyone send me the link so I can re-install ? Or was this a personalized link ? In that case, don't bother. Can't remember anymore.
Too much stuff going on in my life.

(lack of) Happiness is not affected by this trouble anymore.
Anyway I hope they fix it quickly ...

Was thrilled to see the update earlier today, installed it right away.

Just got home from 65km trip and the results were:
- processor usage 90-100 percent all the time @ 900Mhz
- two crashes (program just closed itself)

So... well... not quite there yet :(

With the new version, the exit button is still on the second page.
How can I get rid of the safety message? Even if set to false, it
still appears.

That doesnt sound typical of the others here. Perhaps a reinstall is required?

Noooo...plz don't tell me that SM10 still crashing. That was the reason I went back to SM9 when I don't have a real navigator.

Even so I still hit the thanks button for sygic. always nice with updates.

Thank you sygic!

I think most of us are posting our first impressions at this point without much heavy testing. D-Iivil has been consistently using routes that causes SMM10 problems so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt here.

My updated SMM10 is causing about 75% CPU @850MHz, which I think is less than before.

Already uninstalled and reinstalled and got crash after 15km of driving. My setup is:
- phone is connected to charger while navigating
- bluetooth handsfree is connected (crashes also with bt disabled)

Is someone else suffering crashes with MM10 after this update?

Attached is a screenshot of cpu usage while navigating.

I have the same problem.

Ovi maps gets a (rough) lock within about 20 seconds and a full lock in less than a minute.

This new version of Sygic fails to get a lock of any sort even after 10 minutes.

I'm not happy

as till this time i cannot justify a return of investment for having to pay nokia for something that should have come with this expensive device...

anyway, try the following tip:
under the system group, settings, connectivity, location, network positioning try to change from the nokia server to the google server: supl.google.com
does it speed up?

...whatever others may think about what the n900 advantages are, missing decent apps on this phone makes this phone a flop!

Supl.google.com no longer works for most people. I think even if you try supl.google.com:7276 it won't work. They might be filtering by device now.

.......

Without heavy testing ( just 25 km navigation ) and comparing to last v10 release:

- 1 crash (while exiting it stooped responding. Need to force close and only after reboot could launch it again - with 8.1.0 just a few and rare)
- gps lock may be faster / more sensitive (i can get a faster fix inside my office)
- menus are faster
- moving map display is smother (set at 20fps)
- route calculations are a lot faster
- battery drain and warming are less (drive process still at 70% while navigating but reduces to 30% if not navigating)
- voice sometimes still get distorted (heavy load ? to many poi ?)
- no satellite signal display in info bar before valid gps fix
- satellite page doesn't show (last version, before valid gps fix, right pressing the info bar opened the satellite page)
- no satellite menu (pressing GPS icon in menu nothing happens)

I am a little disappointed with Sygic.
It seams the main problems with last v10 ( cpu load and route calculations) are a little better but still worse when compared with v9.
Imho 1 month after first release it is enough time to fix and test an update.
I canīt understand the satellite page bug. Is it possible that none of sygic testers found it?
Otherwise it should be mentioned in the update / downgrade log.
