Re: Sygic 10 update available!

How big are the dimensions of this update?
I would like to download it on the pc instead of upgrading in the ota way? Any ideas on how to do it?

It uses the same map/drive data by the looks of things so the download is only for the programme itself and a couple of updates.
Cant remember exactly but I dont think its nore than 10mb.

The .deb file is 2Mb.
I think there is no way to download it with pc. Only with N900 app manager.

Also, FAP told me the upgrade was 4+ MB. But I only saw one installation file 1.4MB being downloaded. I think something is wrong ...

Hmm, that isn't necessarily wrong. The installation file is heavily compressed, and when the data is uncompressed it uses 4+ MB. Sounds reasonable.

Probably a newbie question but i never had any Mpbile mas before and i am justafter flashing the Maemo 5 firmware, so after downloading Mobie map 10 (2.5 Mo) When trying to start there is the GPS turning On, then the screen go black and it comes back the the N900 GUI. It is like it is startig then straight after it is shuting down.
An ideas?

Grrr.

Sygic... guys... PLEASE.. PLEASE PLEASE put the window switch control back in the application!

I didn't buy this powerhouse of a device to run one thing at a time. I often switch tasks while navigating it is a real pain using the power button / phone to task switch!

I appreciate what you guys are doing for our relatively small community... but please.. this is important.

.....

If i understood your request you don't want a full screen sygic.

If that is the case you may edit:

/usr/share/applications/hildon/smm10.desktop

and remove "-rfull" from the line:

Code:

Exec=/opt/sygic/Drive/Maemo/drive -cwd=/home/user/MyDocs/Drive/Maemo -rfull

Heads Up...am the half full guy...:D

I know most of us on here is complaining about what's wrong with Sygic @ the moment.

so I wanted to put a positive spin on the board.

I just tried the update and it was painless.
Just load Sygic and played around with it...and WoW...Much Better.
  1. the application runs smoother.
  2. searching for a POI doesn't take minutes but seconds.
  3. i edited my POI with ease.
  4. I luve me some Sygic!

Thank You! to the Sygic Team and I apprecaite all the hard work!
