VideoCall is coming to, oh yes, android - Qik
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2369292,00.asp ; The article talks about video call, yadi yada.... as always, Nokia N800 is NOT even mentioned.
A little more details, ================================================== ================= The new version of Qik with full video calling will arrive in the Android Market in about a month, the company said. Video calling will require a device with a Cortex-A8 processor such as the Motorola Droid, Droid X, Sprint's HTC EVO 4G or Samsung's Galaxy S phones. ================================================== ================= bun |

Re: VideoCall is coming to, oh yes, android - Qik
I'll start caring when they have native Gtalk and Skype video calls. Nobody I know uses Qik or Facetime for video calling.

its not even available anymore and its not even remotely as popular as the mentioned devices. also, as said, this is about android's version of qik. |
Re: VideoCall is coming to, oh yes, android - Qik
I, uh, think that was his point. I'm not sure if he's upset or if he's just trolling.

Re: VideoCall is coming to, oh yes, android - Qik
If I recall correctly OP was the one who was really excited to have fully working Andrioid ( opened multiple treads etc) on N900 and now this useless thread...
So I conclude 1. You're trolling 2. You're an Android fanboy 3. You're promoting nitdroid and you're doing it wrong |

IIRC 3G video calls use SIP to build the video connection, so it should work for the usual inernet telephony. Also on the positive side was that video codecs were likely defined in the standard. I'm assuming the Android implementation can only call other Androids, so we have another interoperability barrier. |
Re: VideoCall is coming to, oh yes, android - Qik
Well 3g video calling is probably a bit like mms, a "not-invented-here" reinvention that requires you to connect to a different APN.. but I'm just guessing...
Almost everything has a 3g version, IM, photo sharing, video sharing, voice IMs (also known as PTT and walkie-talkie mode) |
