Do we need to sink to their level? Because someone else does it, we should? Victory by any other means other than that by one's personal ability is a paper victory - a superficial victory. Especially when one side openly announces that they were cheating - at this point wouldn't the people you were attempting to convince using the poll be even more convinced that the device is subpar since you need to resort to cheating to win? An open admission of guilt is anything but a smart move.

Is winning some poll on the internet so important, so that it can justify our purchase? Shouldn't our personal satisfaction be the key issue, instead of some superficial poll? And by your argument, since nothing is certain, why the hell do we care so much about winning a poll?

I don't consider this poll as between the phones but rather between the respective commuities themselves. Furthermore this is an excellent chance to mobilize the whole community towards a common cause;namely, indulging in a fun, time-wasting, grade school level boyish game.
This poll really will not affect any real world parameters like sales (unless somebody does minimal research before purchase, but in that case, it's a whole different ball park) or no of apps or respect. It's just fun. It needn't be squeaky clean.

Second: Voting systems like the one used in this case are always "multiple voting systems". Anyone ignoring this fact will lose.
This is not "cheating" in those voting systems. It's a part of the
game.

Third: your comparison to murder is somehow dangerous.
Murder and the game we are playing here are very,very different things! I am disappointed that this has to be explained.
