Nokia is shipping
I got the Email late last night that morder was shipping. Did everyone who ordered get this email?
|
hmm ... no
|
Perhaps it would be useful if you let us know where you are, and what date you placed the order?
I ordered from the UK on 30th Nov, when the website was still estimating Jan shipping for new orders. Since they've now revised that to December, I'm hoping I might get mine before Christmas. |
florida, i ordered on nov 14th at 2:00 pm-ish.
|
GOt my email this morning, and FedEx says it should be at my place this afternoon.
Live in Chicago, ordered on 11/16. |
YoshixB: I'm jealous. I ordered on 11/15 but no email yet. How'd you get in front of me in the queue? :-)
|
I ordered my Nov. 14 ... Nokia is going to get a piece of my mind when I get home. I'm in Dallas, Texas.
|
In another blog someone suggested that they are now shipping based on the order they received the confirmations and not when the order was originally placed.
|
My order shipped today. I did not receive an email, nor did the web order status change. However on my credit card statement i found 'pssweb' charged me for about 400$. I called nokia and they said it was them. Kinda odd nokia can't get their own freakin name on the cc bill.
ps. i ordered mine nov 14. Peggy said orders will be shipping today and tomorrow. |
Yup. Ordered on the 14th and recieved email this morning stating it shipped. Located in AL, USA.

I thought about this earlier
Mostly as I was driving, It took me several hours of driving to get my 770. The whole time I was driving I was thinking, will it really be held for me at the counter? :D It was:D , I knew if Nokia did ship that they would ship according to order, since I could never get an exact number Queue for myself in Nokia's database, I decided that even though I had ordered this device before the masses a drive was in order and after Nokia started playing games! It continues still:mad: . for all you waiting on your 770's, the device is def worth the wait, sorry if my post sounds like I'm an ***. I had to drive hundreds of miles to pick up the only unit in my state, turn around and drive hundreds of miles back home in the dark.
|
Mine shipped early this morning (like 3AM); received it this afternoon and been playing with it ever since...in fact, I'm posting from it right now. Awesome!
For reference, I ordered by phone on the morning of the 15th and the email saying it was shipped was the only contact I'd had from Nokia since then. My sympathy for anyone who ordered on the 14th and still hasn't heard anything (for whatever that's worth). |
I ordered Nov 14th at 9PM EST, confirmed (well, website said order processed) on Nov 14th, and I got the shipped e-mail at 2:45AM this morning. Happy now :)
Now for those Calculus III and C++ II tests... |
Received mine. Ordered Nov15
Got mine. Got a confirmation email asking for me to call and verify billing info a couple of days ago. Status was still back ordered but it shipped out 2 days ago and I got it today.
Shipped from Tennesee to Indiana. |
Gonna pick mine up tomorrow.
Had to get Nokia to release it so that I coUld get from the FedX, instead of waiting for it to be delivered on Monday. They open at 8:00*am. |
I got an email Tuesday afternoon saying I had to call within 72 hours or my order (Nov 15th) would be cancelled.
I called them that pm. Shirley said some orders would not ship until the end of December. This in no way sounded like a "confirm payment" conversation. The unit arrived at Fedex Memphis, TN about 10PM last night (9 Dec) and I received the confirmation email at 2:20 am. Should arrive Tue or Wed. P |
Just got back from the FedX office with the 770 in tow. It is currently charging. It is much bigger than I thought it world be.
|
I got the same message about calling within 72 hours to confirm on 12/6. I called immediately, talked to Odetta, and she confirmed my address and payment info. On 12/9 at 2:45 AM ET, I received a shipping notification. It should be here on 12/13. It actually left Nokia on the 8th, but the shipping email didn't arrive until the 9th.
|
 Well, I ordered very early on the morning of the 15th. I also had to phone them to confirm my order after receiving an email.
Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything since. I'm guessing that they received a few and randomly filled some orders. I'm happy for those that received theirs, but NOKIA sure is doing a poor job of customer service. |
Ordered one November 15th, didn't call to re-confirm but did get the e-mail to reconfirm. I figured since I'd already picked up one from CompUSA and I could unload one here or on eBay (or give it away as a REALLY Generous XMas present to my brother in law who is lusting after my 770 : ), I'd perform a little experiment to see if my pre-order would ship w/o my calling to confirm.
Well, it looks like it did ship without having to confirm. Got an email 12/9 @ 1120pm saying that it had shipped via FedEx, according to the FedEx tracker, it left the Origin just after 12am and left Memphis 6 hours later, should be here in 3 business days according to the email. Cool. Anyone in So Cal want one if my Brother in law turns my offer down? There is always Ebay I suppose... Dave |
Has anyone who ordered on or after Nov 18th received their 770 yet?
Thanks |

I ordered on the 18th. Never did receive a request for credit card verification but I did call to inquire about my order on Thursday, since I hadn't heard anything. Still no shipment here.

I ordered on Nov 17 - and I haven't heard anything either
|
I (well my mate in the states did for me) ordered on the 15th and also confirmed when the email was sent out and I've heard nothing. And not being in the US I can't just pop to the local CompUSA and grab one. My friend is coming here to NZ next February so if I haven't heard from Nokia by then (which wouldn't surprise me at all) I'll get him to go get one and bring it down.
|
I ordered on the 15th and mine showed up this morning. Unfortunately, I've been unable to connect to any of the ten or so hot spots that show up at my office. It claims to have successfully associated with my company's network but it doesn't get a proper IP address from DHCP and the connection info reads 0 packets sent, 0 received. I'll see if I have any more success at home.
|
It's worth the wait!
Ordered on November 15, shipped last week and arrived today! Using it to enter this reply. IMHO, it was worth the wait & savings vs. CompUsa.
|
Ordered in the am on Nov 15th. Got "we may cancel" email pm on Dec 6th.
Call them back !! Got shipped email early am on Dec 10th. Received yesterday am. |
My 770--order #57238260, Nov. 15--shipped yesterday, Dec. 13.
|
They certainly aren't shipping in numerical order then :( My number is about 1000 lower than that. I know it's not 1000 770s but still!
|
Any news? My order is 11/18, still nothing here.
|
Oh, sorry. I updated in another thread. I had ordered on the 15th Nov and it shipped on the 15th of Dec and arrived at my friends place in New York on the 16th. He's been 'testing' it for me since and just mailed it to me today. Won't get it here in NZ before christmas but I am hopeful for new years!
|
At least they're still shipping. I'm hoping to get mine by Christmas, but I highly doubt it.

I recieved an email from Nokia on 12/14 that the tablet had shipped, and it included a tracking number. The Tablet arrived on 12/15 :-) Unfortunately, I was visiting family in Las Vegas when it arrived, so didn't get to report on delivery until now.
At least when they finally sent it, they sent it express (I think I had chosen the cheapest shipping option). FYI: My order was placed at 5:00am PST on 11/15. My order number is 57230283 I noticed my box has two of the "v2.0" stickers on it...one over the other. Have others seen this? |
Ah yes, the stupid 128k upstream limit. Believe it or not this is written into the telecommunications act that says that is the maximum allowable upwards speed on Unbundled Bitstream which is what everyone (ISPs I mean) in NZ have to use to access Telecom's monopoly on the local loop. One of the competitiors just got a ruling they can offer a higher speed service (but still only 128k up). The press release is here: http://www.comcom.govt.nz//MediaCent...reamacces.aspx
As for ISP recommendations I am not sure. In Auckland there isn't much choice but I believe in Wellington and Christchurch there might be more choice. NZ is truely in the dark ages when it comes to broadband access. Hell, my favourite pub doesn't even have any wireless APs around it and that was the main place I wanted to use my 770 when I get it :) |

Saturn/Telstra in Wellington and Christchurch have some better options through their cable service. Have fun with your 770 when it arrives! |
