i found this program that works with linux and i was wondering if it could work on n900??

I would love to see a very simple n900 version (not easy debian) of audacity or any kind of app that would give me the ability to record multiple tracks and perhaps even move/cut them would be awesome.

Put the headset mic on the guitar and then add vocals on top. That would be a dream come true.

i just installed easy debian from repo
installed audacity
in program when i try to play an audio file it gives me an error:
check pulseaudio settings or project bitrate....
i think its because the pulseaudio package what can i do to make it sing??

i got sound working on easy debian but audacity still dont recocgnize me soud card
says to check bitrate of project or sound device something
whats wrong????

got audacity 1.3.9 working with sound in easy debian with karmic image. installed some alsa packages in maemo, may be one is needed.
The trick for me to get sound, was to start mixxx before and change the Master to RX51: (hw:0,1), the programm hangs after this but when i start audacity after this: i have sound! Strange behaviour at all, but maybe we can run mixxx also with a workaround...

Hate to burst the bubble on this but I use Audacity pretty frequently on my laptop and it takes quite a bit of processing power. Without modifying the source code, I don't think this will ever be usable on the n900.

Why not just install audacity on Maemo itself? I have it installed from a repo (either qole's or Jebba's (that's dead though)), UI needs work though, lots of it, unless a different theme is used.

I tried this out just now and got the following errors on the command line:

Code:
Cannot connect to server socket err = No such file or directory
Cannot connect to server socket
jack server is not running or cannot be started
Sound didn't work and when I played a file it seemed to hang almost immediately after starting. Any ideas?

UPDATE: Playback seemed to hang, not the Audacity app. Once I stopped playback, the application was fine. Just to clarify.
