there is unzip and unrar from extra-devel repo if i remember , have both installed and they opdn zip or rar directly using default gile manager

As root you can just type:

apt-get install unzip

This adds the unzip command to your x-terminal options.

i am gettong a failed to refresh on my repos , I should post on a diffrent thread , but anybody no what i need to fix this , maybe what info i need to put in the repos.

you should be able to download the packages using the web interface - http://maemo.org/packages/

Once you've the deb file, you can install it by opening it in the file manager

i went to the maemo repos to get the unzip app , it gave me a page that list all the info of the app but where do i click to install ?
