whole n900 write protected?
hello guys.
i have seen some interesting behavior with my n900. i tried to erease some of my old pics but i can't. 15 minutes after that i get some status info(in a yellow bar) that because of some kind of issue my whole phone is write protected and i should connect to a pc to solve this. the really scary is that every task which reads or writes data is crashing like camera. anyway. i solved the problem with some xterm commands and a reboot. but i would really like to know why this happend. some suggestions? thanks |
Re: whole n900 write protected?

Re: whole n900 write protected?
yes i use titans lv profile with 250-850 mhz.
didn't had any issues yet.(overclocked since 2 months) but you're right it could be becuase of overclocking but i hope not |
Re: whole n900 write protected?
my guess would be a program crashing whilst performing I/O intensive tasks (i.e. installing an app, downloading a torrent)
|
Re: whole n900 write protected?
no.didn't have installed a app or downloadet a torrent.
but it is happened again.i could make a pic but i couldn't save something on my n900. just 'the storage is write-protected' came up. but i did the xterm commands another time and now its working again. but it looks bad. i think i better make a backup cause i smell that a flash is coming.... |
Re: whole n900 write protected?
ok i searched in MyDocs and found a weird file named fsck0000.rec
i tried to google it but there are only some confusing informations about that. so can i erease that file or what? |
Re: whole n900 write protected?
It's a normal remnant of the file check you did on your vfat partition. It contains the data that the file checking algorithm found corrupted. You might look at it with an hex viewer, and - if you find it's still readable as it might contain ascii text - you could restore your data at least partially. Otherwise you can safely erase it.
