Open the script in an editor and change this line "#!/bin/ash" to this "#!/bin/sh".

Looks like something went wrong when you installed queen beecon. It have probably nothing with the script to do. You could try:

1. sudo gainroot
2. dpkg --configure -a

and
3. apt-get install --reinstall busybox

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

Ok when installing power kernel and I accept the conditions after the lil warning note. Will the original kernel for the device be removed and replaced? Cuz when I saw this, in cowardice I cancelled lol

I find it strange that although I did not go through with the installation of power kernel I performed apt-get clean to get rid of the downloaded package but my root memory is still "used up" and im assuming by the package. I performed apt-get remove also, still nothing. I'll let you know if anything changes.. strange though indeed.

ok still nothing and when I uninstalled something with app man it tells me we can uninstall kernel-power???

look here:
hildon-application-manager 2.2.65

Uninstalling feedservice-plugin-amazon 0.3.5
apt-worker: Not handling unrelated package libsdl-gfx1.2-4.
apt-worker: Not handling unrelated package libvorbisidec1.
apt-worker: Not handling unrelated package wormux-data.
apt-worker: Not handling unrelated package wormux.

Removing feedservice-plugin-amazon ...
apt-worker: We could delete kernel-power-modules
apt-worker: We could delete kernel-power
apt-worker: Seems like the AutoRemover destroyed something which really shouldn't happen.

E: Internal Error, AutoRemover broke stuff

what's this about
my N900 works fine but still...

I went "shopping" lol na I went looking around and in root I found under modules one called "2.6.28.10 power37" which I believe what's clogging my root. shall I comense "rm -r 2.6.28.10power37/" to remove this? make my day and say yes lol

btw I repeat, I have faith in ur skript, this is all my doin readers. i was scared to OC for the first time and chickened out.

btw here's a screenshot to help

I still find it odd that my App Man is still breaking stuff but it works so I should not be a worry wart :/

okay fine you do that
then there is an icon on your main menu that will deinstall the kernel and get back the stock nokia

at the moment i believe i have the original kernel as u can see from the screenshot attatched but strangely my N900 is moving sluggish this morning. was fine last night, well except for this one time I did that and I turned it off by accident but it was fine after a reboot so I think that's not something to worry over. btw the kernel module I showed u in the previous post, I can go ahead and delete it?

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

i really dont get it
you've waited allll this time to overclock
and now you backed off :s
damn dude you have tolerance anyways
as i told you the safest way is to reinstall the kernel module
and then uninstall it
plus you can keep it without overclocking
its actully better and more efficient than the original nokia kernel!

the only reason I backed out was because of a message saying it will replace my current module which I found strange and had questions about so I said it's better to be safe so I stopped to ask you guys first.

bakuur 2010-10-05 12:44

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

lol no man relax you can have it back within a click
you dont even need to write some codes
as i said its just an icon click away from your orginal nokia kernel
which i promise you will never need
titan's kernel is a 1000 time better!!

RenaldoTT 2010-10-05 12:47

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

I wouldn't doubt that it is but atm in my state I want the original and when I'm calm and cool again, yea I'll push forward.

bakuur 2010-10-05 12:51

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

so as i told you, install then uninstall then reboot :D
simple :P
i gave you all the codes you need above
and if you want ill make you a script to make things easier
but it all depends on you

RenaldoTT 2010-10-05 12:58

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

well at the moment I can't reboot cuz im uploading a video but i don't want to put you into more trouble.

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

@RenaldoTT: I do not think this filled up your rootsf.. everything should be optified. Although it could be...

Could you look in "ls /var/cache/apt/archives/partial/". If there are anything there. And "ls -lS /var/lib/dpkg". (the "-l" is a small "L")

RenaldoTT 2010-10-05 13:18

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

there doesn't seem to be anything in partial or dpkg

Look
/home/user # ls -lS /var/lib/dpkg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1643925 Oct 5 01:48 status
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1643897 Oct 5 01:47 status-old
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 840335 Oct 5 01:48 available
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 840335 Oct 5 01:47 available-old
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 477368 Oct 5 01:48 info
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 939 Sep 14 10:43 diversions
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 844 Sep 11 00:42 diversions-old
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 496 Sep 27 23:29 alternatives
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 432 Sep 16 19:57 triggers
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 160 Dec 16 2009 parts
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 160 Oct 5 01:48 updates
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 5 01:48 lock
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 May 11 14:10 statoverride

and AIMehdi the module I pointed out the power37 is it needed? can I delete. I just wana start from scratch so I'm asking

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

The power-kernel does take up some of rootfs, but it's less than 10Mb.

There's a file called 2.6.28.10power37 is that kernel power? I'm currently running 2.6.28-omap1 I believe I'm in stock because I canceled before the kernel could be installed as I told bakour

yea im in stock guys I read the kernel power wiki. I believe I'm fine now just wondering if to delete that "power37" shouldn't be harmful to do so though.

You could do an "uname -r" to what kernel you are using. And you are correct about what the file is named.

I think you have something else taking up rootfs.

RenaldoTT 2010-10-05 13:56

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

when I ran the command to see which kernel I'm running currently I got this "ls -l /lib/modules/current
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Oct 4 21:25 /lib/modules/current -> 2.6.28.10power37"

but when I ran "uname -r" I get omap1

That was strange.. i am not aware of the steps of kernel-power install. Maybe it installs kernel-power-modules before you get the message. It shouldn't be a problem though as it contains the same modules omap1 would need.

Make sure you have an backup.. but you could try as root:

Code:

ln -f -s /lib/modules/current /lib/modules/2.6.28-omap1/
There are pretty much no danger in OC'ing.. Have not seen anyone fried it yet.. so that would probably be the best route.

Re: [ANNOUNCED] Extremely easy Overclock Script -updated

strange indeed but what will that command do? you think it would be safer as bakour said to reinstall and then deinstall?

It are supposed to change the symlink from power37 to the omap1 folder. It will not remove the power37 folder though. So it would not change much.

I think you should install and keep it installed. There is little harm.. are you scared to fry the device you could do max 750 and be safe. Nokia actually down clocked it from 800mhz to 600mhz. My daily setting are on 805mhz with some under voltage.. so it will last about 3 days. At night i have it running on 250mhz and sometimes when needed 1000mhz.

So install it.. try it out.. if you are not happy.. uninstall ;)

Sorry to hear that :(

I am guessing you just reflashed the rootfs.. well that is probably not enough. You have to reflash both images.. both Combined and Vanilla. You have probably gotten some configuration files or late loading modules corrupted.

I just OCed to 700Mhz with your skript. Works fine. Testing out this speed before I climb higher. Might end up at 800. We'll see. Will keep you updated. Testing 700 for a day, we if problems ensue

Greate! What profile do you use? Different profiles will save you more battery. Like lv will not save you as much as the starving. But starving might not work on your device. Most people use Ideal. If something not work.. it will reboot.. no worries.. just chose a better suited profile next time.

Make sure to test the camera and media player too.. if you have to low voltage.. those will not work so good.

my phone is working now
i managed to crack through and save the data before flashing
so my mmc data saved
and my backup is made
something went wrong with my system files but hey its working now
and i cant live without my n900!
so ive decided to buy another one just for testing (a)

Great! That you got it working ;)

Yeah, i would have bought another one too if i had money for it. The n900 could become the last of it's kind.

I used lv and I'm testing the frequencies up to 800 on lv and if I'm not satisfied I'm going to ideal since you suggested it. My battery already lasts pretty long, sometimes a day but usually 15+ hours.

It's been 7hrs and I'm having no issues with the 700Mhz speed. Media player and cam work fine. Battery has not changed as you said. All is well. Going to work, bye guys.
