Re: Tablet Advocacy
Not so much a frown, but a mix of confusion and frustration. Can you capture that kind of nuance with a "smiley" face? I hope so.

Re: Tablet Advocacy
Post Sub-Title: Speaking of Images... (a.k.a. More Off-Topic Opinions I Should Have Kept to Myself)
texrat: For being such a prolific poster, you get an A+ for keeping that disturbing avatar the same since I joined this forum. I mean, is that sewer sludge dripping off that whisker? And now you're getting into image creation; extra primo good. qole: And for you being such a prolific poster, you get a D+ for not keeping your original avatar. That self-taken photo was disturbing on the scale of a David Lynch dream sequence. Who or what do you think you are: mainstream? Not! Have some texrat balls; bring it back. This was all done in fun love, not mean hate. Peace out. |
Re: Tablet Advocacy
Yeah, I miss qole's Quentin Tarantino impression... but I am thinking of designing him a newly disturbing avatar.

Re: Tablet Advocacy
I'm feeling the hate! :D
I checked the feed on Planet maemo (http://maemo.org/news/planet-maemo/) and saw I'd earned 2 thumbs down on my latest blog article (http://tabulacrypticum.wordpress.com...-with-numbers/). I'm wracking my pea brain to figure just what about the post was deemed offensive by a couple of readers but maybe I shouldn't sweat it. I actually think it's more funny than anything in my case... except that I've seen thumbs down numbers on the articles of other members that absolutely did not deserve it. I'm talking about helpful articles that contributed toward the maemo community. WTF, people? Why the hate? EDIT: discussion moved to http://internettablettalk.com/forums...ad.php?t=26174 |

I'm taking a vacation, later.

Re: Tablet Advocacy
Hey gang, long time no post.
First I want to thank everyone who has sent kind wishes as well as those visiting my blog. I truly appreciate it. Second, I want to apologize for "melting down" a while back. I should never post anything, anywhere when I'm that stressed. That was a mistake. But I also want to clear up some misconceptions. The first is that contrary to a certain accusation, I am fully capable of separating issues specifically involving me versus the macro stuff. If I couldn't, I'd have never been able to perform my role for Nokia as a data analyst. So when I say I'm conducting a poll to gather feedback on a broad scope and not particular to anything I've done, you can bank on it. ;) I also want to reply to the allegation I was acting in spite. This is also untrue. The overwhelming driver for me at that point in time was frustration... and continues to be as I search for work (going on 6 months now). FYI, I just somehow blew a perfect opportunity with Nokia Seimens Networks and that doesn't help. Anyway, I miss the great conversations here but as time goes on and separates me from my employment with Nokia I'm finding that I don't really have anything to contribute regarding the tablets. I have no teasing tidbits nor the time anymore to teach myself the deeper secrets of the product line. Trying to find employment and working on my music is consuming the bulk of my time. Nokia is apparently going to employ Foxconn to build netbooks in our old factory (Alliance) and I am of course angling for a spot there. If I am so fortunate, maybe I'll be relevant again. :D Perhaps I'll pop in from time to time if I have something worth contributing. I hope those visiting my blog will start leaving comments as I value what you have to say. You guys are great. Thanks. |
