Anyway, MCE not shutting down when locked is probably related to the secondary unlock key. If the device can be accidentally unlocked with a press of the power button (no secondary key) then it could also be shutdown with a longer press. I've added a warning about this to the latest settings binary. |
Re: [Announce] advanced-systemui
Good point about the accidental shutdown chance.

Re: [Announce] advanced-systemui
well talk about the sun and it shines.
again i have a backlight oddity. And it appears that ASUI is not reading the battery level correct either, tho i am seeing the "low battery" alert (i guess it is powered by MCE or something). Basically, backlight stays on for a indefinite period (at least 8-10 hours so far), but the battery indicator is not registering a change. Restarting ASUI is not helping. i guess it could be a bug in diablo-turbo and not ASUI i am seeing. edit: ASUI seems to respond correctly to me plugging in the charger. But unplugging still shows the battery level in the stuck state. |

Re: [Announce] advanced-systemui
Seems i may be able to provoke the issue by connecting wifi and then tapping flight mode without disconnecting wifi first. If i then tap lock the backlight will stay on. Also, i notice that with this issue active the normal short press of the power button do not trigger a unlock, it requires a long press and release before i see the "press dpad center to unlock" popup.
MCE, DSME and BME(_RX-34) are all running. |

Re: [Announce] advanced-systemui
New test binary and settings.
The power button would attempt to blank the screen if it was on but locked. There is now a setting to enable this feature and it is disabled by default. It is the second button modes setting from the bottom if you want this feature back. N800 users probably want to keep this setting disabled since they don't have a hardware unlock key and a failed lock&blank will cause the power button short press to stop working. @ tso, this fixes one of your problems but I noticed a dbus security error every time you touched the power button. The old debug binary only printed the error which lacked details that I'm hoping the new debug binary will provide, so if you could reproduce the problem with new binary... |
Re: [Announce] advanced-systemui
will try as it seems to not be 100% "reliable".
edit: ah, it appears the dbus error is independent of the blanking issue. |
