[Solved/Request] QB mediaplyer widget.

1 Attachment(s)
I'm looking for a kind soul who would make me 3 queen beecon scripts for the 3 buttons on the mediaplayer widget (previous, play, next - the play button should be start/stop)

I don't need the coverart and info on artist/song (mostly the phone is in my pocket when listning to music) so it would be nice to just have the 3 buttons to place exactly where i like ;)

This is the buttons i will use if this is doable :)

Here you go.Sorry took longer than I expected:o
For the play widget put the name of play image in status "0" and stop image in "1".For the "next" and "previous" put the name of image in the textbox next to value "0".
You would also need to update the id of the play/stop widget in next & previous widget.In the advanced settings of these two find the last line here replace the id13 with that of play/stop.
Set the size of widgets according to your preference and images.The images go in the usual queen beecon directory.
Enjoy.:)
Edit:
Added beecon to play/pause instead of play/stop

Edit 2:
Removed attachments and posted updated ones later on

Is not worth the Widget which already comes with the N900?

Yes it comes witn a native widget, as i wrote in first post i don't need albumart nor song info. I'm only using one desktop and i'm customizing that to fit with the wallpaper so i need to be able move shortcuts/buttons around and place them where i want ;)

@techie i made the 3 QB buttons/widgets and made them work. Two things though.

1. Can't get the text on top off two of them to go away.
2. When i press the buttons i get the QB animations, it would be cool if that could be my own custom buttons shown.

Attachment 14556

Nice touch by the way with making the same id on all three so they all act as play buttons :D

e: lol figured number 1 out ;)

Have if I take a little time and I believe using your buttons.

Re: [Request] QB mediaplyer widget.

@Douson
For the second, select the option to Hide Click Background from the settings.
You can also use your custom images as animation.
Play around a bit with the settings,NO!NO!NO!YES! has added many options for customization,which is why I love this app :)
@WhiteWolf
Sorry no idea what you are trying to say mate :(

Re: [Request] QB mediaplyer widget.

Do not make me any attention. I apologize but do not know much English.

I understood that you needed to do so but you were talking about doing it yourself.

Sorry for the confusion.

Re: [Request] QB mediaplyer widget.

techie you're a god :D
Can i ask you ... how have you found the d-bus command of the media player command ? (because i suppose they work with dbus) ...
It could seem a stupid question to you ... but i would like to create some other QBW .. and even use this to create scripts and applications .. (just like an application that can easily use some physical buttons for the media player..)
Tnx bro :)

Re: [Solved/Request] QB mediaplyer widget.

@techie works like a charm - play/pause now, cheers mate ;)

e: i've encountered 2 things now...

1. When rebooted i need to start the native player and stop it for the beecons to work.
2. The play/pause button doesn't work before next/previous is pressed after rebbot/nativeplayer is started/stoped.

Tried rebooting some 3 times still the same.

Did also try this with the old play/stop .txt and there it's only a start/stop in native player needed to make the qb's work and then they all work ;)

(today was the first time i've rebooted since i made mediaplayer qb buttons)

It's black pclastic theme dark blue by D-Livil with my own tweaks. It's in extras-devel both the black plastick themes and addon packs ;)

Wallpaper i got somewhere on the net...

Some of the tweaks i got from 'show off your maemo5 screenshots' and 'the truly epic mods' threads here on TMO ;)

Yes I kinda expected that since it is independent of the status of media player.I am looking into it and just saw some hope for a fix.
Unfortunately no time to experiment with the idea I have right now.Will try later on and post if successful.

I dug a bit deeper into the media player's working and created new widgets.Now all are inter-related, so you could hit play on the media player and be able to hit pause from the QBW widget!:cool:
Also play/pause and play/stop no longer need different widgets.The default action is play/pause, to change it to play/stop change the first line of play widget from
Code:

action="pause"
to
Code:

action="stop"
As for the not-working-after-reboot problem I found out the cause.The pointer that maintains track of currently selected song gets erased after reboot, so my widgets don't know what to play or what is the next/previous song.How the media player keeps track of this is beyond me so unfortunately no fix for this:( However it should now require only a single press of play/next/previous in the media player to make the widgets work again.

Set the size of widgets according to your preference and images.The images go in the usual queen beecon directory.

Edit:
All updated again for another fix.Sorry for the inconvenience:(
Enjoy:)

Re: [Solved/Request] QB mediaplyer widget.

Awesome work techie thank you!

I had trouble with the next/previous buttons too, so I just used the code from here

http://wiki.maemo.org/Phone_control#Media_player

And all seems fine now :D

I'm getting everything to show up on reboot by selecting 'update on startup'.

Kind Regards,
D4rKlar

Thanks mate but my issue is a little different since I needed all 3 to be connected.They work fine individually like you confirmed.
Also bro, doesn't selecting "update on startup" automatically start playing the song after boot:confused: It did that for me so even though I selected that option (so images get loaded) I made sure to introduce a check to prevent this.

It might do mate, altho I wouldn't know I tend to clear my playlist as I get out the car!

I think I get what you mean about having them 'connected', I'm gonna try the new ones now :D :D

Thanks again for all your hard work,

Re: [Solved/Request] QB mediaplyer widget.

@techie rebooted last night and i have to open the mediaplayer and press play and then it works i can stop it with the QB play/pause button :D

So if it's to much work to solve so it works after a reboot then i'm fine with the way it is. It works and does the job as it should ;)

Cheers mate for your work :)

Yep, like I mentioned you need to use the media player (or its native widget) atleast once after reboot or reload (even switching tracks would do).
Hopefully you are using the new files.All 3 were updated.
