asterisk can answer the phone and do ANYTHING -- forward the call to another line, answer it and make the user go through a menu, whatever. But there is no GUI, it's a framework for scripting such actions. It only meets the needs if you are willing to program it to do so!

Hmm but Asterisk is VOIP server So, it will use 3G instead of GSM.

i did look into asterisk quickly although you have provided an answer
i think its like using a hammer to kill and ant.

i need to set up a server, write scripts, making sure voice data is delivered or sent. great answer but just may turn out to be an overkill... much appreciated though.

as for best answering machine. i may be at error its for s60.
and i don't want pay for accessing my voice-mail from my operator

Usually voice mails are accessible from another phone. So, if you call from homephone you won't pay for accessing voicemail. You just need to call your cellphone, and press # when your voicemail activates and enter your voicemail password. Might work differently on different providers. Also, you will pay for it anyways. (3G)
