Re: i need a n900 free answering machine
Just get a GoogleVoice account. You can then set it up to do whatever voicemail stuff you want; have people call your GV number.

Oh well, so much for -that- idea.
Why can't Google release these things world-wide? It'd make things so much easier... |
Re: i need a n900 free answering machine
Yep, I agree and vote for an answering machine. I assume it should be a simple coding for someone familiar with the architecture. 'recaller' anyway picks up and can record any voice as well as incoming calls automatically. Just add an 1 minute of playback and then start recording .....

Re: i need a n900 free answering machine
thanks flydeep ill take alook at that software..... yea i do notice that usa and uk do get certain release priority than other countries.

Re: i need a n900 free answering machine
Why not just pay for a provider's voicemail ? You'll be paying for incoming calls if you set up voice mail on your tablet. So, it will end up costing you about the same. Well it depends on number of calls you get.

Re: i need a n900 free answering machine

Hmm but Asterisk is VOIP server So, it will use 3G instead of GSM.

Re: i need a n900 free answering machine
thanks Creamy Goodness
i did look into asterisk quickly although you have provided an answer i think its like using a hammer to kill and ant. i need to set up a server, write scripts, making sure voice data is delivered or sent. great answer but just may turn out to be an overkill... much appreciated though. as for best answering machine. i may be at error its for s60. and i don't want pay for accessing my voice-mail from my operator thanks CN |
Re: i need a n900 free answering machine
Usually voice mails are accessible from another phone. So, if you call from homephone you won't pay for accessing voicemail. You just need to call your cellphone, and press # when your voicemail activates and enter your voicemail password. Might work differently on different providers. Also, you will pay for it anyways. (3G)
