simple solution is to not OC it. Reduce the frequency back to 600Mhz maximum. Then your problem is solved.

Use OC only when needed not for heavy use.

i have the same and also with OC at 1.1 GHZ and i had the same before i OCīd at 600 maximum... the battery just sucks big times. thats about it. As this phone is so awesome and has so many nice functions, we play more around with it than with any other ****ing mobile we had before. That explains why those had a longer lifetime.

I think it's a fine solution to buy an extra battery, or two. I always have one in pocket just in case I stay somewhere longer, or forget to recharge the day before, or some heavy use occurs.
it's not that I change the batt often, but it's just good to have it in emergency cases.
it's about 20 euros, so I guess it's a good deal.

Uninstall catorize/apmefo/mymenu (anything which puts the main menu into categories), maenotify, fmtx widget, and any other apps/widgets with known memory leaks,

Kind Regards,

yea flash drains your battery and battery drain is dependent on usage mines lasts 15hrs or 24hrs. it depends

Why would an application like ApMeFo drain battery? The only thing it does is modify a hildon.menu file inside your home directory.

EDIT: After researching a little I noticed that ApMeFo and some other applications hit bug #10412:

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10412

But they already fixed it back in August.

Since hildon-desktop is OpenSource all I needed to do was to download the source code and recompiled it. I also had to install libmatchbox2 but it wasn't a big deal.

Now it seems hildon-desktop doesn't go to 5% CPU usage like before after you open some folders in the applications menu. I would have to use it a long time to see if the bug is really fixed but it seems so far so good.
