Read more details, it is a show/exhibit, not shipping yet, :( , and not even showing froyo either, will be upgrade soon

It is in chinese, but you can guess the spec, the $880 is the model next to page bottom.

n900 is already small, I don't think I can accept a 2.8" screen.

I have been following the news of the Archos Tablets for a while.

This is the thread,

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=61721

The Archos 43 is on preorder at Amazon for $250. which is 4.3 inches. Everything smaller than that will be too small IMHO. The 3.2-inch is already for sale at Amazon.

BTW, is your N900 a HK version? I don't have one, but I will go back to HK in 2 weeks and hopefully buy a used one if it is cheap over there but it has to be a chinese version.

Unfortunately no. Mine is directly coming from the mother boat, Nokia. The HK one has HandwritingRecognition, is what you are after, I guess. The Archos are exciting, however, some bloggers are skeptical because of their past practice, a lot of 'paid' options

Thanks for the info on amazon, I'll take a lot, my toy is NOT going to land till November, bored to death.

BTW, how do you go to HK, I mean, you paid for it or business? I am shopping for tickets to go HK/China for 3... still shopping :( Last year I went HK/China bought vacation package, hotel + tickets together was cheaper than only tickets.

I am definitely getting the Archos 70 when it comes out. For those of you who haven't seen, Charbax has received his Archos 70 and has posted a good video review on his site. Check it out if you're interested.

http://archosfans.com/2010/10/16/arc...tablet-review/

What I like the most about the Archos is the fact that I will not have to buy another data plan. I was looking forward to the Galaxy Tab, but when I found out Verizon's pricing, I just couldn't do it. I'll just tether my tablet to my N900 via bluetooth.

do thses guys honestly believe this 250$ android tablet will sell when you can get the 4th gen ipod touch with A4 1ghz cpu with hd video recording for 229$? seriously? Linux or not, accroding to specs and apps, Itouch> froyo tablets costing more with lower specs.

I cannot find it. I can only find archos 32 with android. And that is NOT the archos 32 IT. That is the thing about archos, their naming of the model takes a PhD to learn it.

and from the HK news, it is NOT yet released.

For me and I believe for some people, Itouch and Android Tablets are two different types of gadgets. They use two different OS, and both have their pros and cons. It doesn't mean you own an itouch and you will not buy an andorid tablet, or the other way around. As long as they are good products, they will have their own market. I am an end user, not an investor (well not exactly, I do own Apple's Stock), whether or not they have a big market is not my consideration to buy their product or not. They both are good products and should have their own followers.

I still have family in HK. So I just need a plane ticket and two empty suitcases. I went back to Beijing/Shanghai/HK in May for the Shanghai Expo using the package, it was fun and cheap. This time HK first, then fly from there to other places for a total of 3 weeks. Just for fun, not business. This is the 3rd time to go back this year.
On the amazon, the Archos 32 is the android internet tablet. Archos have 5 different sizes for these 8 gen tablets. 2.8, 3.2, 4.3, 7.0 and 10.1.
So Archos 43 is the 4.3-inch, Archos 32 is the 3.2-inch, etc.
I am considering the 4.3 and 7.0 sizes. The first one has a back camera and the second one has a multi-touch screen. I may buy both. But I am still waiting to see the review from the end users before I can make my final decision.

www.archosfans.com is a good place to check out those reviews and discussion.

BTW, do you still think a N900 is a buy? I saw your review on the Nitdroid on N900 and that make me want to give it a try. I don't want to buy an android phone, b/c I don't want to lose my $5.99 data plan from t-mobile. And an used N900 shouldn't be that expensive in HK, I hope.

I am still using my 770 and N800 and I am bored too.

Exactly what I am thinking too. I have t-mobile $5.99 data plan and I don't want to upgrade to an android data plan for $30 more per month.

No your completely wrong the Archos 43 also comes in a 8gb version which is 200 dollars with HDMI, microsdhc, significantly bigger screen, similar processor, and Android (which is better than iOs in my personal opinion). I myself am getting the 250 dollar 16gb version.

For me 4.3 or 4.8 inch is a perfect size because they can see a lot but are still very pocketable. I myself can't wait to get the Archos 43.

True but the screen on the 43 is resistive, not capacitive. The lack of multitouch on resistive screen may affect game playability. I may get the archos 70, but I also like the back camera on 43. So, will see.

Hey guys remember the Advent Vega?

Its a pretty hi-end tablet, and there's some new info/video on it.
http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/17/a...t-might-get-it

Anyone notice that he said during 3:20 - 3:35, that the screen is above 720p but not 1080p. This implies 1366 x 768 (which I pray it has for me to buy it in a heartbeat).
Well hold on a sec, wasn't the tablet specced (or leaked) to come with 1024 x 600? And it makes sense for 600p because that is the highest resolution Froyo supports (according to Google), and this is to increase to 720p (or 1366x768) with Gingerbread.

If you think this is a non-issue, I tell you it is because its a difference of been able to watch/stream HD videos or television and also not needing to resize media. It also means much smoother graphics experience (157PPI vs 119PPI, higher is better) instead of "clunky".

To be honest I prefer resistive touchscreens. I think the 43 will still be a capable games device.

should anyone figure out how to replace the battery on the 43, i might buy it, if my n810 became inoperable. i'm not a fan of planned obsolescence, (or however you want to spell that).
