Well, I saw that Bunanson posted in the Nitdroid thread that both PR 1.3 and Nitdroid 0.0.9 were possibly coming soon. Don't know if he was just messing around, but I hope the rumors are true

I installed Nitdroid a couple of days and, except for a few hiccups (battery life, wrong type of MicroSD card) I am very pleased with Android on the N900. If the next release has phone support and better battery life, it will be a viable alternative to the POS that is Maemo.

Yea, we hope to see something for N900. really it has been long months & nothing major coming to N900...;(
well, i am going to wait till the end of this year. If N900 got strong up-date & if MeeGo 1.1 is going to be installed in N900 smoothly, then fine, otherwise, will sell N900 & get my self E7. Then by 2011 will get the King N9.

it is really sad how the N900 is been neglected.
Hope to see the opposite though.

I really hope that the next Nitdroid Release will bring us full phone functionality and maybe gps. Its really funny that a Port of the Android BS runs more stable and smoother on my N900 than Maemo. I fear that 1.3 wont fix this. And Meego 1.x seems to be in Beta Stadium still if i hear that they are "just" able to make a Phone Call then i wonder how they will bring up a stable Release this year.. just my 2c

I hate to say this, but I have installed Nitdroid and gotten it working about five times, and deleted it every time. It just doesn't seem ready or anywhere near it, and I am becoming increasingly dubious about Android as a result. I mean, no multitasking seems to be a pretty big deal to me.

I'll still give it more chances. I hope I'm wrong. But I am quite happy with the N900 without Nitdroid and have been for quite awhile.

yes i installes/uninstalled it too but that was 2 months ago and on a class 1 or 2 card=laggy.
maemo is my lovely favorite os.
but nitdroid is for gaming and experiments;)
i can do things there which could blow my os away and i don't wan't to hurt maemo.
so for me its perfect boot into nitdroid and play

Feel the same way. It's cool that we can install it, but ultimately it goes in the "so what" category. Maybe with working phone and all, it will be better.

Personally the only reasons for installing nitdroid was to:
1) show people that my phone can dual-boot ;)
2) just to prove, that I had Android 2.2 on a non-android device, long before Android devices received the update.

Just be happy having something different to play with.
0.0.8 is great. It has phone and SMS functionality and all.. Just enjoy it. Be happy. If you want more, try and work with the NITDroid community and help.

Ubuntu is running N900, maybe test that while waiting for new versions (if any) come out.

Well if you could tell me how you worked out the sms sending/receiving and to make a Phonecall (Voice) then i belive you..

But i have to agree 0.8 is working very well and if the battery perfomance and the full phone / sms functionality will come i will use it everyday.

Just wondering how many partitions and of what size should I create in my 32Gb built in memory. I intend to install android, ubuntu, meego.
