Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore
The only way I can see to try to figure this out is to flash to PR1.3, install backupmeu, test. Then, restore apps a few at a time to see where it breaks.

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore
Unfortunately, I'll have to leave that to somebody else.
I have too many changes and customizations to completely reflash my daily device. I will work it backwards, and start purging my most recently installed packages and see what happens. |
Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore
Fair enough; I understand completely.

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore
It does not back up MyDocs due to the IMMENSE size. This will backup and restore rootfs and optfs.
Where did you plan on backing up, a possible 32GB of files to? |
Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore
oke understood,
question of a noob apps what i had installed manually with dpkg, is there a possibility to copy that installed app as a deb to install it later after reflash?? thanks |

You can list all such files with: "tar tvf ./*date*-optfs.tar ./opt/var/cache/apt/archives/" And then extract by changing the 't' to a 'x' in 'tvf' |

Connect your N900 via mass storage mode, and copy all of the contents into a specified folder of your computer. Voila, there is your MyDocs folder backup! While in the other hand, you can NOT do this to rootfs and optfs, that's why this application was created. |
