That has happened to me before 1.3, with 3 IMAP accounts and 1 POP but I haven't seen it again, anyway I haven't played enough with the phone since the update...

2 bugs for me:

Airport game no longer works. Gets stuck in "loading" and then goes back to home screen.

OTA internet is no longer working (T-mobile $10 dumbphone). I keep getting prompted to upgrade to a different internet package.

Louder perhaps, but definitely not stronger. FM-Boost doesn't work as the PR1.3 kernel seems to ignore writes to the power level:
Code:

# echo 118 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0063/power_level
# cat /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0063/power_level
112

No problem here with that, but I used the flasher method not OTA.

What about the Ovi maps reroute button???
Finally I have reroute on my maps!!!

@wigglemeyer

I have T-mobile with the $10 dumbphone plan and mine is working fine. What APN are you using?

Ok looks like two more things , not sure though

1. During videocall via Skype front LED lights up red :)
2. Using sound level buttons in email app you can zoom in/out emails ( was it possible before? )

anyways that's it for now

Re: What's new in PR 1.3

PR 1.3 IS AMAZING. Nothing major like portrait mode throughout but heres what i found:

Amazing fluidity- no lags, (unless you running a million apps w/music and gps and games. accelerometer control could be a tad more fluid)

Battery IS finally pretty impressive. I got 30minutes of music playback and some browsing for 3% of battery.
Small battery drain(compared to before) when running gps, games, apps, etc. VERY NICE

Browsing is so so so smooth- like butter. Fast- even in 2.5g- fast rendering and flow and zooming is nice and fluid.

App manager is faster

Email client is faster

Music playback is AMAZING- NO stuttering so far even when browsing, gps maps, running a millions apps, and games(like KROLL or ANGRY BIRDS)

GPS IS FAST and calculations are fast (bad bad bad routes calculations... but fast) especially when running a million apps- music, games.

Games ARE FLUID AND FAST especially when running a million app,(you get my point), etc.

Pictures- added new cropping features(although some of my pictures wont show:() and even pictures are more faster in rendering.

All apps work- and are faster!

So far what i see is a much improved much capable device running fast with better everything. Now that they stopped the bleeding, they can now make it better.
Maybe we can see some changes better navigation and maybe a better media player w/more controls.

THANK YOU NOKIA

Re: What's new in PR 1.3

i've just updated to the PR 1.3 via the Nokia Software Update option. The update was a whopping 200 MB !! I backed up all data using Nokia Backup

Post the updates all my music, videos, messages and contacts are intact.

However all widgets, apps, homescreen layouts have been deleted. Is there anything that I can do to get them back, ??

Also I am thinking of flashing to the Global PR 1.3 firmware coz the Indian version does not have Skype support. Any clue as to what are the differences in the Indian and the Global version ?

@rajkrishna
You have to restore also from the phone itself (that's what i did), and homescreens were back as they were before NSU.
Well, if you did a backup...

Re: What's new in PR 1.3

This isn't all to do with PR1.3 (I put the power kernel back on and the swappiness changes) but I can now be streaming music via A2DP and open maps with NO interruption to the music whatsoever! Starting maps seems to be an intensive process and would always cause stutters in the music before! Wheee!

The airport game got updated in the Ovi store. I have received an update notification for it yesterday.

Yes. I updated to PR1.3 from Ovi Suite, and had everthing backed up. Restored after the update.
The applications were all gone but the custom menu folders were still there.
And what's even funnier is that when you reinstall the apps they start to appear in the same folders just like before the update.

I haven't installed AppMeFo after doing the update so I don't know if it still works in PR1.3

Yep, last time I installed bash from extras this info was provided (that was 6 months or more ago).

I ran bash-setup for the default user but not for root.

+1 for the re-route button

I'm not sure about this faster, smoother thing. it's probably a placebo effect. My phone feels the same.

Someone had noticed at the swedish meego forum that in PR1.3 you can enable alarm reminders for the birthdays in the calendar.
That's a new one, isn't it? At least I have missed that feature before.

Nope, that's there on PR1.2 as well (unless PR1.3 allows you to set them arbitrarily, rather than either off or 1 day before?).

mine originally set @111, but kernel already changed for overclocking and boost to 118 works as expected
Code:

# cat /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0063/power_level
111

It's definitely not a placebo effect. I can actually feel the snappiness. It's faster, email client works everytime now. Damn, wonder what 1.4 (if there is one) will do!

Re: What's new in PR 1.3

Just a few things i noticed. Seems they changed multitasking a bit.

Before, when you opened an app and entered the menu. If you exited the menu it would go back to the desktop, now it goes back to the dashboard view if an app is open.

Wigets can now be placed unto screen edges without going over to the other desktop.

They also messed with pulse audio to make it slightly less cpu consuming. Everything on the audio card was set to 85% before, now it's all set to 80%, this increases battery life and performance a bit.

Dunno if they changed anything in the kernel...

Re: What's new in PR 1.3

What is that FMRX application that was installed? When I tried to remove it using FAPMan, it gave me a warning that I am removing a system package, it seemed to me that PR 1.3 was going to be removed when the FMRX was marked for removal.

I feel that my battery isn't lasting as much as it did two or three weeks ago.. anyone else?

I have had this also. I got two IMAP accounts and MFE. Overall performance is better than previous, but system sometimes stops responding for few of seconds, don't know why or what might be causing this.
