Re: 5 things in PR 1.4 that would make N900 the best phone up to date.
as nokia will change ovi to nokia services,
i have read that they will release a firmware update for old devices wich have ovi Do you think they will release a firmware update for the Nokia N900 ? Or only for devices from 2010 and 2011 what do you think |
Re: 5 things in PR 1.4 that would make N900 the best phone up to date.
I highly doubt the N900 will receive an update just for this. After all, the N900's Ovi Store still is a BETA, even today. :)

Nokia does not intend to provide a dual-boot OS option to consumers in upcoming N900 commercial software releases as we want to ensure that we provide the best possible experience designed for that device.
could also mean : they want to release an update but without dual boot. |
Re: 5 things in PR 1.4 that would make N900 the best phone up to date.
This just my opinion but if ever that update comes and they remove features like duel boot. I won't upgrade then. I will much be happy with CSSU progress.
PS I don't want a phone. I want a tablet. That is just like our N900 :) |

Re: 5 things in PR 1.4 that would make N900 the best phone up to date.
what made me post here today ,was a news reflashing that soon it is comming.the PR 1.4 but when ?
desperately waiting for update cuz probably this is the best time for nokia to release their update as people moving from N900 to samsung galaxy S 2. looking for flash update. looking for N900 own maemo services (no need of ovi store) looking for better touch interface. looking for better battery life over wifi more space to install application. and official maemo applications (hundered of thousands of them) hoping for the best .hope it comes so soon . |

SomePlayer, Media Player, Symfonie, Instictiv are just 4 music players offering all the featues under the sun and then some. I would recommend you switch on the repositories and start exploring the Application Manager. The Maemo community is vast and has some awesome applications on offer. |
Re: 5 things in PR 1.4 that would make N900 the best phone up to date.
I have just 2 wishes
1. Same navigation as it's mentioned in upcoming N9/N950 2. Video calling Does anyone know if we're going to see any update at all? |
Re: 5 things in PR 1.4 that would make N900 the best phone up to date.
this thread is good as for people not on the forums 24/7 thatr list something that has been fixed or is a way to to it they get told how making there phone better without the new update
1. when in a conversation and reading a msg then u receive a msg from that person it always scrolls to the last msg (i know it wasnt doing this at some stage maybe pr 1.2?) or if your scrolling through and receive a msg it scrolls up a heap of msgs 2. the phone proximity sensor takes 2 long to display the image after beaing removed from your ear. sux balls when trying 2 ring optus etc. press 1 for this press 2 for this etc 3. ability to open new tab in background in microb id use firefox that syncs my bookmarks with desktop computers but its way 2 slow 4. general responsiveness when i get phonecalls it displays it then moves the answer landscape then back 2 portrait while taking out of pocket and takes ages to switch between as i could be holding it ready to answer in portrait mode then it switches to landscape then back again. sometimes iv hit reject because it switched at the wrong time AND AFTER 2 DAYS WHEN I TRY AND STOP MY ALARM FROM GOING OFF IT REGISTERS MY BUTTON PRESS BUT ALARM GOES FOR ANOTHER 10 SECONDS!! it needs reboot daily to survive and it still seems slow compared to the iphone 5. as others say flash 10 or that new html5 or whatever that is |
