Transmission settings
Hi guys, I've got a problem.
I've changed the settings in Transmission, like the port for incoming peers etc. Now every time I start downloading it says Invalid argument or Error, Tracker gave an invalid http response, then it usually changes MyDocs/Downloads to a read only file system (which I can get rid of thanks to this board). So I was wondering if anybody could supply me with the original settings as there is no Restore to Defaults option. Any help would be great. |
Re: Transmission settings
Port for Incoming Connections: 51413
Limits: Max peers per torrent:15 Max peers overall: 25 Web client: Listening Port: 9091 These are the only settings that I see that you might need. Others should not effect the application I imagine. Re post if you need more. |
Re: Transmission settings
Thanks afaq, but that had no effect.
Do I need to have Encryption mode: Prefer encryption Use PEX to find more peers: tick/no tick Use DHT to find more peers: tick/no tick Use UPnP or NAT-PMP port forwarding from my router: tick/no tick Pick a random port every time Transmision has started: tick/no tick Enable web client: tick/no tick Thanks. |
Re: Transmission settings
Why don't you just reinstall transmission?

Re: Transmission settings
I've tried but it comes back with the same settings.

Re: Transmission settings
i am also having the same issues (can someone point me to the post where i can stop the read-only issue)
i am also having the same tracker error etc as the OP any help on this would be great |
Re: Transmission settings
Here's the answer to your read only problem:
sudo gainroot umount /dev/mmcblk0p1 fsck.vfat -aw /dev/mmcblk0p1 reboot. Hope this helps. So, my Transmission has stopped giving me errors but it wont seed to anybody and I'm getting in trouble with the private tracker. I've tried everything I can think of, to no avail and a ban is immenent. Can anybody help? |
Re: Transmission settings
If you have a router, the transmission port setting has to be consistant with the open forwarded port on you router.
In the Incoming Peers setting press Test Port. It should give you some info. Also what are your Forward ports with UPNP setting and pick random port setting? |
Re: Transmission settings
I haven't got a router, I'm using my n900.
Everytime I press test port it says port is closed. The UPnP and Random port options are unticked. |

The missing information now is your network configuration, how do you connect to the internet? (wifi/gprs; if wifi then what are you connecting through, and so on, and so on ... all those details) (Side thought: maybe checking UPNP will help - this could automatically assign and open the port for you) |
