It is a great device. And Nokia can correct all the mistakes if they want. The last thing that ticked me off was while using the GPS yesterday, I wasn't able to save locations onto the device, as you can do with other Nokia products. That was the last straw that made me go crazy. lol.

Technically you could. You just can't do it in Ovi Maps. You'd have to use Mappero, Modrana, or Sygic Mobile Maps.

Re: I'm Selling My Nokia N900 to buy a Nokia N8
Well I have both the Nokia N8 and Nokia N900..
Here are the things which I personally like about the N8: OVI Maps Superb Camera Capacitive Screen with 'Pinch-to-zoom' USB on the Go the numerous apps from OVI store knowing that Nokia won't stop supporting you in terms of updates etc. However, I really miss the hardware keyboard which is present on my N900 and the open-ness of Maemo. Also, Symbian feels kinda weird on a touch-screen device (in my opinion Maemo is the ideal OS for touch-screen phones). But overall, I am happy with both devices. I would never sell either of them. |

I could test the N8 the whole day today and the browser is so incredible slow.
I was mssing my N900 just a few minutes after I gave it away. :D |

Re: I'm Selling My Nokia N900 to buy a Nokia N8
At least you have come to a conclusion. What I would suggest though, is to pop in a Nokia Shop or any other mobile phone shop and try the N8 (just to see how it works). Its good for entertainment but for other tasks you want the N900. :)

Re: I'm Selling My Nokia N900 to buy a Nokia N8
the N900 is a superior device. very tempted by the N8 because Maemo looks way better in promos than real life. what really ticks me off is kinetic scrolling, 5 to 8 FPS is pathetic, worse than symbian 1.
still, the OS is Linux, so it's very open. terribly slow UI, even when overclocked to 1.15Ghz, is no reason to get a new phone. |
