Sorry boys... Off topic.

I'm posting here because linux has his inbox full.

Anyway, this message is just to him. :)

Hey there boss.

Yeah, my tablet is all super chunky right now. Not sure what I did wrong.

I did end up enabling view hidden folders on my memory card and deleted a bunch of junk.

Thinking that this might have been the problem, I tried to remove the extend virtual memory but it won't allow me to do this.

Poopsies!

Anyway, just wondering if you wanted to hang out online later tonight.

Hit me back! :)

Sorry for the delay. Here you go. No need to install. Just unzip and play. And check out README.

This is the first time I deal with emulation stuff. I've encountered many issues during the process. Will post them later.

[EDIT: a file is missing in the first upload. reuploaded again. pls use the new archive.]

installing CSSU fixed the non-showing chars, works like a charm now

That bug was found by DawnMist a couple of years ago - got overlooked when n900 rolled out. Give the CSSU guys a big thanks ... !

Request : Port of Brogue.
Thats a great new RL - can anybody port it?

Addition to your Roguelikes list:
http://koti.mbnet.fi/frozend/download.php

Frozen Depths, mega awesome roguelike that works with the qemu trick that works with ADOM. Just switch the binary file name in the script, requires 25 rows so you have to minimize.
Another that works this way is berserker RL.

Re: Roguelikes on N900 discussions

I'm still waiting on linuxeventually to finally post on his qemu trick. :(

Re: Roguelikes on N900 discussions

Try moving the .so files into the directory where the binary is and change the sh accordingly

by that i mean: remove '--library-path ./lib' from the file that is executed in adom trick after you copied all the files from ./lib directory to the game directory

I'll look this over again. Thanks! :)

Right now, Tinyfugue has been my great joy.

I've been working on a super awesome setup for this lately and playing Medievia for the past few weeks using TF. :)

genesismud.org was my poison, so glad to find a muddy prson :)

Re: Roguelikes on N900 discussions

Using Xbindkeys, Xmodmap, Xkbd along with TF scripts, it's actually quite enjoyable. :)

Has anyone compiled libvte so that you N900 owners don't have that one pixel invisible boarder?

It's so much better playing any text games on a full 800x480 screen. :)

szopin 2011-06-19 06:59

Re: Roguelikes on N900 discussions

Sadly, no. There is no other way for most games. Luckily ADOM runs in it. Frozen Depths though _needs_ it so it uses only half of the screen (no resizing of maps like in ADOM luckily). Never thought I would cry because of 1 pixel (and no alternative to xterm)

Oh yeah, btw, your font is actually effing great, THX

Addison 2011-06-19 07:23

Re: Roguelikes on N900 discussions

There has to be someone that would be willing to recompile libvte for you guys.

Otherwise you have to go with a stupid smaller font because of that one pixel border.

I'll ask around for you within the next couple of days if no one steps up for this. :)

Re: Roguelikes on N900 discussions

I have a beer for you in my fridge if you accomplish that feat. Alcoholic, just to make it clear (the beer of course(?)). If you prefer I can bake you a cake maybe

Addison 2011-06-19 08:18

Re: Roguelikes on N900 discussions

Beer is about all I ever eat. *lol*

szopin 2011-06-19 08:55

Re: Roguelikes on N900 discussions

Then beer it is :) (so glad, my baking skills are... how to say it... out of the ordinary)
