Flash Player
please inform how to download flash player on N900 as while opening videos on my phone it gives me message that Flash Player not installed, download it.
please help me on this. |
Re: Flash Player
sorry, you have flash player but it is wrong version. and you can not have the newer version because it isn't publically available.
(there are threads for this here, please use power search) |
Re: Flash Player
You should have flash installed. Are you using Fennec? Some browsers to not link to the flash library installed in the N900 or needs a higher version of flash. To check, just visit http://www.playerversion.com which should report the flash version you are using. In short, N900 has flash, either it needs a higher version (built-in is 9.x) or the browser is not linking to the flash library.

Re: Flash Player
You can trick websites into thinking you have an upgraded flash player through flash tweak. Websites that really do require Flash 10 (ie use features etc only in flash 10) will not work properly.

Re: Flash Player
The MicroB browser that came with the n900 (preinstalled) is already linked and using the flash plugin. However its not the latest plugin hence the solution i posted above.
Firefox browser can be linked to use the plugin also (through firefox's settings), opera cannot. For firefox: http://www.nokiaphoneblog.com/2010/0...bile-1-0-n900/ |

Re: Flash Player
In the command prompt type (without the quotes)
"ls /usr/lib/browser/plugins/" what does it output? It should list the files in that directory which should include libflashplayer.so Also, just to make sure, does your browser look like this? http://wapreview.com/images/MicroB_Toolbars.jpg Edit: maybe as a last resort, make sure the plugin in microB isn't disabled by navigating to "about:config" (without quotes) and typing "plugin.default_plugin_disabled" (without quotes) and making sure its value is false. |
Re: Flash Player
1st of all, thank you for replying.
I got libflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/browser/plugins My browser looks like yours (microB). In about:config, I have "plugin.default_plugin_disable" to "false" And "microb.suspend_plugins" to "true". I changed this value, but still no flash player detected. I tried to move the ~/.mozilla/microb directory, but I don't think it's enough to reset microB settings, because my bookmarks still appear. I also have a "plugins.flashhack" value set to false, but setting it to "true" did not change anything. In ~/.mozilla, I got an empty file called "plugins", is it normal that it is empty ? |

Maybe try the solutions found in this thread (its regarding reinstalling microB) http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...install+microb |
Re: Flash Player
That's it ! The empty file must be a link to /usr/lib/browser/plugins. The strange thing is I did not have to do anything, the link came back itself...
Now, playerversion reports me the good one. Just need to wait for Texas Instrument FP 10 :) Thank you again |
