Juan,

Quick update: Iīve got the keyboard working... somewhat, on Arch now. But I also have the same trouble as stalker, with the fn key and numerals and such not working.

Still looking into that but it wonīt be before tomorrow at best, that I can dedicate some time on it. Hopefully itīs just a matter now of locales and xbindings

On another note: I intended to install illume on Arch, as a temporary workaround. Illume needs to be compiled from svn afaik but Arch wonīt let me install the build system.

code:
pacman -S abs

result:
abs package not found, searching for group...
Error: 'abs': not found in sync db

Any idea why it might be saying that? Of course I googled but it seems to be a rare problem.

Last question: have you got a webbrowser installed on Arch? What would you advise installing?

thats the problem with archmobile, the lack of packages, Im working on the keyboard issue, I'm out of guard tomorrow so i can take my time to fix that.

Also I spoke with a plgubox developer about the Xephyr and gcc problem, he told me that in few weeks they are going to relase a new update repository fixing those troubles, so with that we could have a better arch build system and aslo a lot more packages, and the possibility of build packages from aur

But no browser? That's a bit odd, no?

Re: [TUTORIAL-WIP] Ubuntu, Fedora and Archlinux using Easy-Debian

I finally solve the icon problem..
I put the icon image file into "apps" and "hildon" folder..
So i put it in 3 folders in all :

/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable

And after reboot the icon appears, dunno which one made it work..

But i still wonder why does it always crash whenever i'm creating the .desktop file ?

Hmm got a question,
How do i create shortcut for openoffice?
Y'know just like in easy debian where you can open openoffice without going through easy debian first?
I think it's important because ubuntu runs faster than easy debian in my device..

Re: [TUTORIAL-WIP] Ubuntu, Fedora and Archlinux using Easy-Debian

Sorry but i need another help..
I'm getting a black screen when running Archlinux.

I execute it via X-terminal and i'm getting this error continuously when running archlinux :

Code:

/home/user/archlinux/startarch: line 7 /usr/bin/wmctrl: Permission denied

So i tried chmod + x and chmod 777 that file (/usr/bin/wmctrl)
But i'm still getting the same error..
How do i fix this?

edit : i copied wmctrl file again to MyDocs
and repeat this step
Code:

sudo cp /home/user/MyDocs/wmctrl /.archlinux/usr/bin
rm /home/user/MyDocs/wmctrl
cd archlinux
./chrootarch
cd /usr/bin
chmod +x wmctrl
touch /usr/bin/archlinux-e17
chmod +x /usr/bin/archlinux-e17
nano /usr/bin/archlinux-e17

But now i'm getting this error

Code:

Everything set up, running chroot...
root
/home/user/archlinux/chrootarch: line 1: : not found
/.archlinux has a qmount already!
/media/mmc1/archmobile.img.ext2 already mounted on /.archlinux...

It seems to be a font problem..

Re: [TUTORIAL-WIP] Ubuntu, Fedora and Archlinux using Easy-Debian

@deny_winartomake sure you install at least ttf-dejavu when you are in chroot.

For the other files:
set-focus needs to be in /usr/bin and
qobi-wmhint-fix in /sbin/

Give them both appropriate rights with chmod +

I tried this but it didn't work
Code:

cd /home/user/archlinux
./chrootarch
apt-get install ttf-dejavu

And where do i get the other 2 files?
Sorry i'm still new at linux..
