Re: [TUTORIAL-WIP] N900-LINUX: Ubuntu, Fedora and Archlinux

That was a long week... Has anyone got Gentoo running correctly yet?
I see a lot of posts (not really a lot) with it not being very good.

Has anyone got it to boot to GUI yet?
I'm only now able to download. Been bush for a week (trail bike) :D

Edit: As for ubuntu keyboard - You are on the newest build? There are 2 (or more?) versions. Newest has working keyboard.
SoftCenter - Hit or miss. Works fine for me, just slow.

What do you mean with "not very good"? The OS or how itīs been working so far?

Root image provided by Juan is available atn. But itīs image is too small and hence there are lots of emerge problems.

Itīs been a bit of a busy week here too, so Iīve not been able to work on it. End of this week should bring more of a GUI. Unless you can provide me an image file of at least 4-6 gigs :)

There is no keyboard issue anymore. Use the search function for this thread, as it has been answered a few times already.

Do you understand what i am saying?? Do you have ubuntu installed on your phone?? try going back to maemo and then back to ubuntu, without closing it, and try to enter some text or whatever!!

I tried qole keyboard fix but it does not work!!!

Re: [TUTORIAL-WIP] N900-LINUX: Ubuntu, Fedora and Archlinux

just tried what you've said: ubuntu - maemo - ubuntu. I do have the keyboard issue..

It's not that big of an issue. It's working fine in easy debian. I'd say it wouldn't be that difficult to solve. We may just be able to find the easy debian scripts and copy & paste the parts we need :D

If anyone has meego chroot installed, does this keyboard issue exist? Not the original meego - 1.1b (2nd qole release).

Re: [TUTORIAL-WIP] N900-LINUX: Ubuntu, Fedora and Archlinux

Ok... Gentoo - Is it a problem with the archive or me?
I have downloaded twice - Tried to extract with mac and N900 - Errors.
On N900 just get a failed to extract (at about 195kb).
On mac - There is not enough disk space to perform the operation.

I have plenty of space...
