thanks for the great work done here, one question
is it possible to start the gui somehow to be able to see the screen over eg. VNC on the PC with different resolution as 800x480?

i was thinking to do some kinda X forwarding, or FW directly $DISPLAY to my X server

You should be able to start any vnc server you want at any resolution and remote into it. You can do this and use VNC into the N900 itself with a larger desktop with panning. I did this awhile back.

I am planning on doing an Ubuntu chroot and doing a vnc server at the native resolution of my Nexus 7 so I can run LibreOffice and Java apps from my tablet.
