I did not installed fedora or Archlinux, but Ubuntu runs quite fast. Even on a non-overclocked device.

But i'm stuck with some minor problems (noob problems, i guess!)

I cannot move/copy/paste or even create files/folders on the desktop. I have:
Code:

ERROR. No such File or directory.
And Also how to make my MP3s work with LXMusic player, and how to make file association (as I'm always prompted to choose a program to open files). Is there a player I could install to watch the mp4 and Avi Videos I have in the Phone???

I Don't have internet access right on the N900 So i cannot get the Ubuntu system connected to the Net right now!

Re: [TUTORIAL] Ubuntu, Fedora and Archlinux using Easy-Debian

raaj13: By my experience Ubuntu runs pretty well also archlinux, fedora not so much, so if you want to choose between these 3 I suggest you ubuntu because its more familiar, although I like so much archlinux

tobyax: you have nano in maemo 5 not in ubuntu, every time that you chroot into ubuntu, you have a new environment so you have to install nano
open a new xterminal

Code:

cd ubuntu
./chrootubuntu
aptitude install nano

Mukati: It looks just like debian because both OS share the home folder of your device that means that both are sharing the same configuration file, I have made a script to make ubuntu have his own home folder if any are interested

raaj1- Boemien: If you want to install anything just use the xterminal

Code:

cd ubuntu
./chrootubuntu
aptitude install vlc
