[ANNOUNCE] XBox360 Media Remote
 

I've just uploaded into extras-devel an app I developed yesterday whilst messing with QML, it's called "XBox360 Media Remote". It allows you to control your XBox 360 with the Nokia N900s' CIR port.

HI tswindell, just downloaded your app. Looks good mate but i cant seem to get it to work? restarted my N900 and no joy, even tried it 'close range' lol any ideas?

Do you already use a media remote with you XBox, if not you need to enable it on the xbox before it'll work, somewhere under settings. Can't remember exactly where.

Just tried it and it doesn't work and i have enabled media remote in the xbox 360 menu.

What are we doing wrong?

Okay, probably a bug then, can you run it from the command line and tell me if it says anything interesting?

/opt/usr/bin/xbox360-media-remote

Okay, I did a bit of investigating, I need to fix a packaging issue with getting sudo access. I thought lirc added the appropriate entries but doesn't, I'll update the package which should be downloadable in 10 minutes.

Yep, -xbox360-media-remote 1.0-1maemo2- works fine.

Yay! Sorry for the bug in the first package :D No doubt more will be found eventually. Please keep me posted :)
