Yes, Its there...just go to settings->VoIP and IM accounts and setup your user.

Your Skype contacts are where all other contacts are - in Contacts app. You can filter them by pressing top status bar and selecting appropriate filter.
You can call then the same way you are calling a mobile number.
And oh, you don't need no headset to call - just do it like you place a normal call, with the N900 next to your ear. That is the beauty of Maemo 5 - it integrates IM seamlessly and handles cellular and VOIP exactly the same way. This is one of a kind device in that aspect.

Let me tip you there, the pockatable computer you bought does not need a headset to make skype calls, as for the inbuilt microphone and speaker(s) will automatically do their job. Still, a headset will probably work too. You can also make a video call to pc's (at least under wifi) and other supported devices. Adding a contact in skype works via the contacts app, modify your contact and add the skype via the selection screen and type his/her usename. Deleting works the same.

As you see, skype as well as some othe services are well integrated into the Maemo5 interface. Assuming you are relatively new to it, welcome here :)

Hi razor,
if you setup your own Skype account information via Setting->VoIP, _then_ you are able to make calls via Skype.
However, your contact list from the PC do not show up automatically. You have to maintain them manually in the N900.
Just add your contacts in the N900 adress book and add the "Skype" field and enter their Skype name. Afterwards you see their Skype online status (if you are connected to Skype) and are able to call them - start a "Skype phonecall" - like a normal phone call.
I found it the most easy way to let them call you and then add their name to the adress book.

I had by buddy call me and then I merged with his contact. Kind of a pain.
