In any case, this is not a nokia conversations thing. According what was heard in the Q4 earnings call, it's an announcement by Stephen Elop on an event called "Nokia Strategy and Financial Briefing" where he will go into OS strategy. But who knows, it could be Ovi changing it's headers from a flat light-green to a floral themed vivid-green to celebrate the upcoming spring, right ?

PS Good to see strong user support for open low-level components. Way to go.

Maybe its just announcement of new strategies and directions - might be exciting just to hear abouur the "synergies", the "cooperative development" the "cross OS development strategies" and what not, but maybe there will still not be any new exciting devoce ready for Meego I think. Or else they will again show a prototype and then to market will be 4 months later as usual.

CMD is about the strategies. So in that sense they got lots of events in short time to show where Nokia is going with Elop as no devices wont be more than likely announced in the keynote either.


Though the invite gives absolutely no hint about what the even is all about.

Why does he "obviously" know more just becasue he runs the Nokia blog? He may know if the CEO etc has told him but then again he may of been kept completely in the dark and know as much as we do?

No. No pointless debate here. There is a lot of action here. Read between the lines. As for waiting for godot it was release back in 50's-60's so no point waiting for that anymore.

You know in a company when a big decision is to be made every key players knows about it, does not even have to be a key player; sometimes just a administrative assistant knows a whole lot by preparing the documents. Elop had to have it all discussed with his co-workers, his marketing team, his financial team, and his production team, he certainly did not only discuss with his wife and made the decision which he is going to make public with-in 2 weeks.
And you know, he has only been on the position for four months, no matter how long he might have been working in a similar industry, he still needs to know about THE company policies, their prior strategic plans, the politics, and who educates him about all that? his sub-ordinates and when he learns about all that he makes a viable solution that is discussed with all the key players and they come to a conclusion.

It wasn't even a rumour. It was an open letter(I guess not very open 'cause I couldn't find it) by a bank analyst to Elop and Ballmer and from the excerpts a very trollish one. One article in Bloomberg referencing it, and a hundred others with the exact same content. I'm not sure the stock surge is because of this, especially because it wasn't a rumour to begin with. Now calm down. :)

It wont be dropped before n9 hit the stores. But it is possible that nokia do a back-flipp and leave it for dead after a few months in store.

If they drop meego completly and go win7 or android. I will start work "more activley" to bring down nokia to a 1 man company. I will not succeed, but I will try.

The countdown might be changed to "until nokia is removed from the face of the earth".
