Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
It's mistake. Installing Gingerbread over 0.0.9 is really silly way to produce nearly-unrepeatable glitches and problems.
At least without wiping /data directory (that makes such an installation meaningless). |

edit... i see the nitdroid wiki recommends clean install... |
Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
as i understand and according with what others guys have said is better installing gingerbread over 0.0.9 vers. but now i am little bit confused beacuase e-eyes wich is the master in this topic he says that NO. so my question here, is it? or it is not better to install over 0.0.9? just to be clear at all.
and thks a lot for the effort u are doing guys. really appreciated |
Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
Clean install (install to empty partition) is HIGHLY recommended.
|
Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
it's better to install it only not over 0.0.9
but u missed something , we said to install gingerbread on fresh 0.0.9 i.e u won't have data files because u didn't open 0.0.9 which is the problem in installing gingerbread over 0.0.9 |
Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
It's meaningless. Gingerbread + gingerbread_update1 include all files that is really needed.
libbridge.so exists in 0.0.9, but removed from Gingerbread update intentionally, because DSP is not working yet. What happens when you install Gingerbread on fresh 0.0.9? Codecs will attempt to use DspBridge and fail after few retries (check logcat). FakeGPS - i don't know why do you think it's working... try to locate yourself in GMaps... if you find yourself somewhere... in Russia... then it's really working:) |

Android 2.2 is bedder..
flashplayer not working on Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 :( |
Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
I think this build (2.3.1) is better.
It's faster (all hardware is the same for me [sd card]). Albeit I never used flash. But the system responds better, snappier, faster, looks cooler (minus the launcher). I just install PandaHome and good theme :) Also.. Does anyone know why this build has not been rooted? I can't OC without it :( |
Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
WIFI works, Music works. I installed over 0.0.9. Didn't delete them and applied both the fixes/updated provided by E-yes. But apn not connecting. Bit slow for me as I am running from mmc. Trying to partition my mydocs so that i can run 0.0.9 and gingerbread. But bit afraid as there is no good tutorial using gparted.

Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
I had the exact thing happen to me today!
You have removed the /home/opt directory. Thankfully you can just flash the ROOTFS and it will be back. Do a backup first. Apps still work, you just have to guesstimate where the right buttons are :-) Flash and you will back to normal. Having said that you will need to reinstall Nitdroid - multiboot and kernel again. Good luck! |

Re: [RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
worked for me but i went to market then use search and ype in youtube and hit enter now scroll down and there should be one listed that has update next to it thats the one you want to click on. once updates go to settings..aplications....manage apps....click the all tab and scroll to youtube press and check version is 2.1.6 if so try using youtube app mime failed on first try could not play video click to try again, this is when my youtube started working will try and post a video if i can but have never done so before so bare with me guys. hope it works for you as it has for me. this won't work with 0.0.9 only with gingerbread
edit:; video may not be till later as camera is not picking phone screen up clearly enough so waiting for bro-in-law with desire to make vid hopefully this afternoon sorry for delay |
