media player support for n900
 

do we have any other media player available for n900 whcih can play all the formats of video....something ike VLC.

mplayer works well and there are a few front-ends for it smplayer, kmplayer and sib - all in the repos.

vlc is supposed to be coming, I think there are posts on this forum about it if you do a search for it.

You could get SMplayer or KMPlayer to play various formats of .avi and .mkv

SMplayer does good with those . Though all types of Mkv files are not playable

There's also SiB which is great ! http://maemo.org/packages/view/sib/

KMplayer and SMplayer should be available in Extras-testing .

smplayer is extras-testing, kmplayer, mplayer & sib are all in extras

So no, you don't need extras-devel enabled.

thanks ....i installed SMplayer but i have few video files on micro sd card. But i am unable to browse to the video files stored in microsd card using this smplayer to play it.
