Not sure how valid this is, but you dont put in orders for hundreds of rubber cases unless you have some idea.

this is not a buy apple advertisement - i have never bought or owned an apple myself.

I think their point is that this news isn't really interesting. A camera is something the iPad 1 should have had but didn't so they could get more people to upgrade to the new improved version.

I don't think the topicstarter deserves a bunch of ******** for sharing.
I do admire apple for their strategy, doing nothing special, and still sell a lot. I don't like their handeling, otherwise I would have an iPhone.
I agree the ts, to follow the most important markets;android iOS, and messing with maemo. If something goods get released, why shoudn't you buy it.
(for example motorola's attrix; dualcore, 1gb ram, 1950mah battery)
I'm cerious with what nokia/apple/htc/... responds!

You guys, thinking the iPad should have a camera and all, you just don't understand: Apple, and thus the rest of the world, hadn't yet invented tablet-appropriate cameras. (Or whatever new great revolutionary wonderful magical amazing feature Jobs will ramble about when the iPad 2 is announced.)

3G (this should be standard)
2x Cameras for FaceTime
1GB DDR2 RAM
64GB internal memory
Cortex A9 cores
Loudspeakers
Range of colours

.... which were intentional, it gives Apple things to make the iPad2 (or iPad 3G) more superior and gives buyers reasons to make an expensive upgrade.
Apple are evil geniuses, but geniuses either way.

Honestly though i could not care less about camera in a tablet. Don't personally really see the idea as my phone(s) will always have the at least N95 quality camera and i always carry phone, not a tablet.

I can see the need of front facing camera.... again not something i got need for.

2 cameras for Facetime? Is that to do it in 3D? Maybe that could be their gimmick for the 3rd or perhaps 4th generation iPad. Now I've mentioned that idea here, I should get royalties from Apple if they implement it, and to anyone from Apple reading you can contact me by PM for my bank details to make the royalty payments. ;)

Actually the two cameras are front and back (you can switch between them to show people what your looking at).

As for the Cortex A9 for the iPad. Were Cortex A9s even available (for consumer devices as in you wouldn't wind up paying 1k+ for a device) for any device?

obviously meant a normal backfacing camera to take photos and a front facing one to video call. For that crap comment, I think everybody should pay you royalties when they take a crap... please send me your bank details so i can send my payments

Well, yeah. I did realise that before I posted, but my first though for 2 cameras was 3D and I thought it was the type of gimmicky thing Apple might try and make popular at some point, so I decided to run with it for my comment. But if you don't like my comment feel free to skip over it and find something more interesting, you don't have to reply to tell me how crap it is.
