Why don't just remove "task-shortcuts-hide-bg" option
Users can hide background renaming/removing/editing the background image.
And some themes has already transparent background for shortcuts

Make sure your N900 is online so downloading is possible.

#sudo apt-get update
#sudo apt-get install --reinstall hildon-desktop; killall hildon-desktop

If that doesn't work, you probably need to check you have the right repositories defined.

oh, that is possible at all, WHEN YOU LEARN how to make applications, and you will make it! At this moment nobody wants to rewrite it because it's closed source soft :] Remember that ppl who make CSSU are doing it for free.

Stop asking about swype, if you want it buy n9 (when released of course), this is n900 with hildon and personally i want it to stay.

Maybe you should pull latest hildon-desktop and hildon-home and reapply patchset agains those. As there were some commits lately.

I would like to propose if it is easily doable that when you type in the applications list a search filter should pop up, I find myself trying to hit the keyboard every time I am searching for an app, before realizing the list is not searchable. Every other list is on the phone so it seems inconsistent not to be able to search the list. I know there is the app search widget, but double tapping the menu button is far more convenient than long-tapping it (which doesn't work on the switcher), swiping to the right desktop and hitting the widget.

modest in CSSU gitorious tree got new language strings, which should be transtaled before next CSSU release.

New strings:

"mcen_fi_advsetup_offline_sync" ==> should be "Enable offline IMAP support for this account"
"mcen_fi_options_tree_view" ==> in en_GB.po is "Tree view mode"

"Tree view mode" is in last released version but is not translated into all languages.

Offline IMAP support is only on gitorious, not released.

Offline IMAP support in modest would be amazing! It's the one feature I truly miss on the N900.

I propose to "allow to use the mouse wheel to scroll" in the application launcher, also prioritize the task manager and avoid the stoppages during loading, use or slowdowns that occur when you use any applications. Give better user experience. Also prioritize more phone use for while using is not affected by other processes.

Hello, I searched the thread and found lots of posts about virtual keyboard,
but nothing about CSSU making it vanish.
It's just not there anymore, when i tap a text entry field with real keyboard closed, nothing happens!
This is since I installed CSSU and then portrait-hildon desktop right after, so portrait HD may have caused it as well. Any hints?

i didn't, flash and then installed cssu, my first flash since i got the phone when it first came out. powering it on and setting the regional settings felt like the first time i powered my phone on :D

Help me please. I can't update CSSU via Hildon Application Manager, it tells me to backup first with PC Suite. When I connect to PC Suite, the Nokia Backup thing on N900 doesn't interact. Next time trying to update, it's the same s*** - is there a way to upgrade or reinstall CSSU without using HAM?

Hello,

here is osso-wlan patch from packet-injection tarball:
http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pal...an-retry.patch

this patch is needed fo packet-injection wl1251 driver, but installing other version of osso-wlan will break system (break metapackage).

this patch can be part of CSSU, but must not break system without packet-injection driver and/or other kernels.

Testers/Developers now can test this patch with stock kernel. If there are any problems write it.

How to test:
0. Make sure that you are using stock kernel (no packet injection / kernel-power / ...)
1. Backup old wlancond

Code:

$ cp /usr/sbin/wlancond /usr/sbin/wlancond.bak

2. Download patched wlancond binary and copy to system

Code:

$ wget http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pali/wlancond -O wlancond

$ cp wlancond /usr/sbin/wlancond

$ chmod +x /usr/sbin/wlancond

3. Restart phone

Revert back:

and restart phone
