something funny with the omweather widget. when desktop turns portrait and omweather gets cut because it does not fit, when the desktop returns to landscape it is still cut in half. funny.
edit:seems a reloading of the widget fixed this.
great to see the cssu progressing!

my n900 feels quicker now with new cssu upgrade. just wondering though has the taking a picture in portrait been sorted? because when i try and take a pic in portrait my screen messes up still and the pic that's taken is in portrait though.
just wondering because i think i may need a reflash if it has.

Updated via FApMan, manually upgraded calculator -> works fine.
I'm using KP48, Speedpatch and custom kernel-configs -> no problems so far.
Enabled vertical_scrolling and using the blacklist -> Great work!

Can someone please share the transitions.ini.dpkg.dist I deleted it :/

And thanks again to CSSU team. I've been using it for hours and everything seems perfect.

Same here, but without the reboot loop.

Calendar gets closed every few minutes, the phone is slow and unresponsive and sometimes does not get a network connection at all. I've also had two unexpected reboots under heavy load...

Hi Robin,

with vertical scrolling you can scoll your desktop vertical instead of horizontal in portraitmode. You can enable it with:

Code:

gconftool-2 --set /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/scroll_vertical -t bool true

What problems do you have with Sygic? It works fine for me, but try to add in the blacklist "drive" which is its binary name or "smm10" which is its .desktop name.

Does anyone have any instructions on how to use the blacklist for auto rotation? I've seen people mention it in this thread, and I have checked the wiki and seen no details.

Thanks :)

Also, thanks for the CSSU in general, this is incredible work :)

Edit /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini, line blacklist= as root

I don't know if it has been noticed yet, but you can see changelog with Fapman, just look for package mp-fremantle-community-pr and click changes
Edit: also http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU/Changelog

The new CSSU Release with portrait mode desktop is just f***ing AWESOME ! :) Nokia should have incorporated this feature from the beginning of Maemo5. What a shame they did not do it. I am thankful there is such a great Community of Hackers out there actively pushing the N900s abilities to new horizons. Thank you guys for all your hard coding work.

You may find it a mandatory feature, some just find it "nice", but prefer landscape mode, that not many mobiles have incorporated. ;)

The Maemo 5 Community SSU Package is now on Extras-devel, the question is: When this would be on Testing? (then with the vote would be in Extras, i guess).

Greetings.

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

That should be removed as soon as X-Fade responds to my ping on IRC (which can take some time as of lately...), it was a mistake, forgot to add community-ssu to dput parameters and it defaults to -devel

Thanks for your interest, Rob1n. Should I do an "apt-get install hildon-desktop.1.2.2.142-13"? What the command excatly should be?

Many many thanks in advance

It should install -14 if it's available anyway, but you can try it manually:
Code:

apt-get install hildon-desktop=1:2.2.142-14

You can try installing them manually and see what you get - it'll either need to install extra packages or need to uninstall some existing packages. Start off with "apt-get install libqtm-12", which should pull in most of the others as well.

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

ok i made the mistake of running the old cssu tuner and now i have a transitions.ini that doesn't have a blacklist option in it. what does the blacklist line look like and under which [?????] section does it go?

edit: i've seen ft2hak's posting on what the blacklist line should look like so that answers my first question.

after I wanted to upgrade libeet1 I get info that I have to install libein1 and than see the picture

What exactly did you do?
I just tried apt-get install --reinstall, but that didn't help. It's highly annoying that the device isn't stable, so it takes quite some time to go back and do some dpkg --configure -a, and again, and again...
